  1. Trouble you have is that you take no prisoners and they deem that you use unreasonable force who gets put away...........?
  2. I thought this. I placed my 1 month old (to me) Hilux on my drive out the front of my garage and they bent the top of my door out unlocked the van, pushed it up a drive that was sloping towards the garage (a fair incline as well) and then broke into my garage all of which happened right underneath my bedroom window. I was gutted. I think if they do want it they will have it. I have padlocks on the door as well as the normal lock am considering installing a garage door defender. I use wheel locks on my towable stuff as well as hitch locks and i still worry!! I am insured but i still have excess to pay and it's not nice getting done over:thumbdown:
  3. I don't want to add fuel to the fire but if this is the biggest gripe you have i life you're one lucky guy!!
  4. Great pictures. Shadow shots are great.
  5. Love the rugby anyway. A win is always a bonus and as for rushing to get finished i didn't start yesterday!! Got soaked to the skin twice this past week and that was two times too many so i had the choice and took the day off. Didn't want to be late for the rugby, plus really worried about catching man flu:lol:
  6. Whilst working for the local authority we reused the woodchip as a mulch which actually works a treat plus it's free and, if not from diseased wood, environmentally friendly!! Playground chip is bark chippings which are also graded so personally i wouldn't be supplying schools for playgrounds in case of any comeback unless it is the real deal stuff.
  7. Congratulations. Almost a warm and fuzzy moment there when you mentioned the baco....er i mean the babys heart beat:lol:. Special times and you'll never forget them
  8. Card from myself one from the boy to the best mum in the world, bunch of flowers and a McDonalds. You simply can't beat commercialised crap:lol: And a rugby top for her too. What a wife!!
  9. I think that honesty is the best policy. I too bought what i thought was going to be a fairly decent splitter for about £1400. To be fair the parts are great the biggest problem i had was when towing it down the farm one of the stub axles split out from the bottom of the tank and drained all but 3 litres out of the tank before i realised. These were attached the same way as they were on the machine that you bought so i wouldn't have said it was road towable really. All that said i have a new chassis a suspension and bigger wheels and all seems to be ok (touch wood:lol:). The engine the ram and the pump all seem good so i suppose it was just a starter pack for making your own log splitter really!! Oh and you will probably find as i did that the hydraulic fittings aren't all standard either! I was told it was almost like they had a few bits laying around and made it up into what i had. Anyway i'm happy now with my unit.
  10. Whilst on the subject guys does the woodchip that goes to the power station have to be kept dry or anything special? We have a fair bit but it's stored outside and just wondered if Boomeco would take it?
  11. I say good luck to him. If he has all the tickets and he's insured etc just keep on keeping on!! I think i'm going to work for free as well. At least you know you can undercut everyone else:lol:
  12. chaffey

    work

Yep. Have hurt my foot somehow but stilll managed a full day. Time off work is for wimps:lol:
  13. Well i still wouldn't worry too much. They'll learn. From my experience with the firewood there's not a great deal of money in it anyway so give them six months and they'll reverse the offer to pay for the tree work and you can keep the logs!!
  14. Yeah nice one guys. Warm and fuzzy sums it up!!
  15. Wouldn't worry about it too much. Guy is probably not insured/no tickets. No idea what happens to all the brash then? That's probably left for the customer or they can get rid of it for a small fee!! People that use guys like that deserve everything they get. I know someone near me that does it for the local farmers. No insurance no tickets!! They'll come unstuck one day i say let them get on with it.
  16. Blimey you seem to get a few visitors don't you? Seems like you should stop being so friendly:lol:.
  17. Love the T-mobile advert. I bet that was a great atmosphere there.
  18. I know this may sound kind of left field but why not contact the police and inform them of your intentions. If it is not a good plan i'm sure they'll let you know and then you can rethink. I just think it would be easier to try to sort the issue before it arises. If they do agree to your plan (over the phone) just ask them to pop it in the post or e-mail it to you just to cover your back as if you do get asked what you're doing and your only defence is i phoned your lot up and they said it's ok, isn't going to carry much weight!! Good luck with it whatever your decision.
  19. Will have to make another call then won't i. I presume i spoke to an office girl but thought she'd know what she was on about!! Anyway going on what you're saying it must be wrong so why do you bother buying it in bulk? If the fuel is availabe on the forecourt for about the same price surely it's hardly worth the bother is it? Plus you must have a higher chance of fuel theft:confused1:
  20. I did ask that very question when i got the quote and i was told that was all in.
  21. I pay 79p a litre for red and £1.32 for white. I was thinking of buying a tank for white as my van runs on it and my Land rover too. I enquired about buying 1000 litres of white at a time (last week) and i can get it delivered for £1.10 a litre. That would be the way to go surely for some of you guys as you must use a lot more white than red? The savings cound be immense over a year.
  22. I think rather than blaming the big companies we need to be looking towards our own government. I believe that 67% of a litre of fuel is tax and VAT. This is the problem but it can only be solved in the longer term by reduced reliance on fossil fuels and then we won't be held to ransom by fuel cartels, stockmarkets and the government. Although saying that the government will tax anything to make money (any government that is) and once the new fuel suppplier gets floated the markets will be involved again!!
  23. Guilty as charged. My apologies.
