    Boredom Tax?

If you want to stir up a hornets nest just start a thread stating that any of the Jap vans are at least twice as good as a Landie:lol:. You'll probably have a contract put out on you but it'd be worth it just to get the response:lol:
  2. I store my wood in a barn. I have done so for the last six or seven years but this was the first year i've suffered from any mould on the wood, so have been using pallets as people have been suggesting although i have noticed that it was only the cherry that went on the turn. Apart from that the wood dries out a treat and is nice and dry. Good luck with it.
  3. You know why don't you? They've found something better.......a toyota:001_tt2::lol:
  4. I can hand on heart say that this is my exact feelings. The sooner we as a race wipe ourselves off this planet due to our own ignorance, stupidity and greed the sooner this planet gets a chance to get back to a happy place!! It is sad but i think we will realise when things are just too late. As for the fish it is an absolute disgrace that something should die for no reason whatsoever.
  5. I'd say go with an accountant as well. I had one a few years ago and even without receipts they still claimed for everything:thumbup:. I do a lot of mine myself now but still get an accountant to cast their eye across it when i'm done. I even managed to claim my money back for training as it is an essential for the job so you must have it.. Good luck anyway
  6. From what i can gather from a tree officer i know the high hedges act is not worth the paper it's written on!! I don't know for sure but i don't know if it's that easy to enforce is it? There must be some tree officers on here that know:confused1:
  7. Our local Stihl dealer also does tractors and they would probably be charging somewhere around the £50 an hour mark. They have to charge a decent rate don't they? Premises, electric, business rates, water and they also have a vast array of tools as well. I think £50 an hour + Vat is far too expensive for me but as a going rate for repairing tools i think it's a bargain and as a bonafida Stihl dealer anything goes wrong you just chip on back round there and it'll get sorted. Take it off for your ten pounds an hour gig at your own peril!! I also think that in the new Stihl catalogue there is actually a list of prices for repairs but don't quote me on this have a look:lol:
  8. Hi, i can't post for some reason but have just had the same problem with my 150. It kept stopping and wouldn't start and generally being a pain so i was advised to change the relay and it works a treat now. The relay is a standard one that you can get from any auto spares shop. Cost me about three and a half quid. Good luck.

  9. Is the cover on the back plastic? Also where did you get it and how much:confused1:. That's the kind of thing i'd like for my ute!!
  10. I know two guys round by me that do this. One will clear fell any trees as long as he can have the wood also he goes round, with permission mind you, picking up all the fallen trees/limbs as well. The other gut that i personally know climbs and drops branches for farmers. All crown lifting and hanging branches over fields and roads!! (No certificates, no insurance and as yet no accidents!!) Implications you ask? The land owner has a responsibility to ensure that these people have the correct insurance the correct certificates. If there was an accident the people involved would be responsible as they were the ones doing the work but secondly and most importantly the land owner has a duty of care to ensure that these people know what they are doing and the only was is certification as far as the HSE are concerned, so for those that know great guys with no certificates when push comes to shove you may have to be able to prove that you know what you're doing!!
  11. What a fantastic link. Loved the sound track too. Wish i was a bit more athletic like some of those. I can feel a new year resolution coming on............no i'm lying actually i love eating and chilling out too much:lol:

    New year

They may say it never hurt anyone but nobody ever said it done anyone any good:001_tt2:. I just have to work hard anyway as i'm poor:lol: Happy new year to all you other workers out there:thumbup:
  15. I usually dig them out with a knife blade!! What i really like is when they go a little septic and pop out in a stream of gunk. Weird i know but kind of satisfying:001_huh:. Anyway i went to my doctors with a thorn that i needed removing and he couldn't get it out but he told me not to worry as it would either come to the surface or if it stays in your body long enough it will just be broken down by your body:thumbup:.
  16. I always do the same. Just use the stihl branded stuff. Was wondering if anyone else had been told about the 4 mix. I was told that i should only be using the green 2-stroke oil for the 4 mix as the red 2-stroke was not suitable for the 4 mix, whereas the green is suitable for 4 mix and any other 2-stroke engine?
  17. I wondered exactly that!! Still it was hard work back then. Here's to us and our chainsaws:thumbup:
  18. There's always takeaways!! Microwave meals and mums can fill the gaps:lol:
  19. We use graphite powder. Wonderful stuff
  20. I do keep climbing but i think when i return i over compensate for my days efforts if you know what i mean!! Worked all day from dawn til dusk climbing on saturday and i ached so just went home and ate everything i could:lol:. Climbing is good just got to stop eating so much:lol: Most days i suppose i only manage half a day climbing then clearing and chipping so i do work hard just need to climb more!!
  21. And my wife cooks really well:thumbup:. Probably explains why i'm chubby!!
  22. Didn't really want to tell you guys this but i'm the nearly the same i eat like a horse, i'm five nine and a right fatty:lol::lol:
  23. Surprised some people don't lock the chipper to their van. Easy take if you don't really isn't it. I also know someone that had a chipper stolen from the back of their van and there was someone sat in the van!! It takes second to steal but most chippers have those small hitch locks don't they and they only take seconds to put on!! As for theft from lock ups etc i had my garage done over a few years ago. Bent the door out on my van pushed it up my drive and then got in the garage. The police turned up after about half an hour (at 5 in the morning) And what can i say about the police? After two weeks they called and said it will be listed as unsolved!!
  24. Sounds like you need to drop a chill pill or change careers otherwise you'll be in for a heart attack:lol:
