  1. Check the chassis for rust very carefully, also the bulkhead where the doors hinge and under the windscreen. Make sure all transmition is working and not noisy, and doesn't jump out of low ratio on the over run. Engine for smoke, oil & water cross contamination, price in for a new timing belt,as they can let go if not fresh. Front axle swivel balls for corosion. Steering should be straight & true with no wandering. Get a good one & they are not a bad motor, but they are getting on a bit now,so make sure it has bean well loved,& not been used hard off road, look for mud trapped around the underneath, and scrapes on the chassis .

  3. Bunch of flowers & a sorry,to prove you are not just trying to generate work by pruning the holly let them know that you wish no payment, wether they offer it or not. Turn a potentialy damaging (to your busness) situation into one that benefits both you & the client. You have not lost much money ,but if they put other people off using you in the future you will . Good luck in trying to turn a negative into a positive.

  10. Priced a 3 day job up last sunday, got there at 9 in the morning, didnt get away before mid day, lonely old girl, had the life story, and felt that when I am her age,in her shoes,it would be nice to get more than just the time of day, It was doing my nut in as I had more to go look at,but the wise old bird gave me things to think about once I started realy listening, main thing I learnt was to take time for people,it can be it can be quite enlightening. Mind you she did rattle on a bit!

  19. Realy anything from£95-£120,with your own saws & climb kit, with rigging or big saws more. If you have regular work think long and hard about a change in the next couple of years, things may get tougher for a while.
  20. Good luck with that, looks a mare of a job. I would advise plenty of tea & biscuits!
  21. Thats about the long & short of it. We can help the HC's by removing & destroying the fallen leaves, and agood mulch around them helps with compaction problems. It has been sugested that fresh prunus chippings(high in sugar about now)make a beneficial mulch.I have used these cheap & easy methods for a few years on affected trees at one loication(regular client),and for the first season in 3 years they are bearing good sized conkers, the leaves now are only slightly affected by the miner. I do wonder if anything is feasting on the miner, having had a few years to adapt but that may be just speculation. I am no authority on this, just my observations .
  22. Thats funny!
  23. Great pics, the terrier is one of the nicest looking I have seen.
