    I use a little top handle,and a blower,no probs in nearly a year,they run sweet.
  5. Found this little ditty, probably not relevent to my thread, but hey ho here it is! Moths and Bat Predation - Butterfly Conservation
  6. Have some hc,s herethat have been heavily hit by the leaf miner moth for the last 4 years, now this year they apear to be much less affected,if at all to date,I know that blue tits etc acount for about 10% of the minor when it is in the leaf, but I wondered if the moth itself had any predators, these moths/pupa can go through 3 generations a year acording to my researches, and were these trees are there are a lot of bats, could the be responsible for the decline of the leaf minor? The only treatment these trees have had is chippings laid under the canopy as a mulch, and clearing up & burning of fallen leaves. So ,the big question, whats scoffing the leaf minor,(I suspect in the moth form, but I may be wrong). Other trees within a mile or so are still getting hit by the minor.

    Gutted.

If you go out with the intention to disrupt inocent peoples lives, you must surely expect an unpredictable outcome if caught, that's not rocket science. If you are prepared to defend your property with force you accept the same parametersof personal risk. It is surely a different thing to reluctantly yet robustly defend your property (when if not disturbed you might otherwise be watching the box or reading),than to deliberately go out and stick your nose into inocent peoples lives with the intention of harming them. I fail to see the comparison. My father was an olimpic fighter, champion of britain for years at his weight, the only person he ever hurt outside the ring was a man with record for violence towards the public & police, who was in the process of raping a young woman,he brained him,and he was right to do so. Thats my opinion on it, no bravado, just a nesccesary evil.
  8. Keep it low key,if they dont know it's there they cant nick it,also make it harder and more time consuming with different layers of security. If you keep your kit at home,a pea shingle drive & sharp mutt are an asset.
  9. Auto sensitivity is alright, but manual sensitivity will give more deapth, noise cancel do on wood/soil giving no signals in 'all metal',ie no metal under the coil when you do it,ground ballance make sure of the same. Discrimination will stop yhe detector from signaling over that type of metal you wish to eliminate from your hearing,so the detector will go quiet or'null' when you sweep over it,you can create your own disc pattern rather than using the pre set ones (designed for usa type detecting),if you struggle mozza`has me number & its easier to explain on the old phone.
  10. Dean, the xterra will pick up deaper iron, just need to go all metal (no discrimination), and raise the sensitivity.

    Gutted.

Some people are so disolusioned, how a man who indiscriminatly runs around hurting inocent people can be a hero is beyond me!
  14. Great pics & storyline!
  15. Thats fun,looks good.
  16. You might find a good local arborist climber prepared to clean a path up the tree,I would think a pulley setup for the ascent, set high enough above the seat to allow easy horizontal movement into the seat, with a secondary prussiced system to enable the horizontal move into the seat, not too complicated to do. I would think about the implications of leaving this rig in the tree regards the ropes becoming weathered, and third party interference when you are not there. What area are you in?
  17. Thats a brill resource, thank you to all involved!
  18. Thats a top notch setup you have there!

    New chip box.

    Looks realy good!
  20. I bet the blade sharpen will sort it,if they are BLUNT the rolers will just skip and chew the timber, least ways get the blades sharpened / changed and see how you go. I have seen this with badly dull cutting blades on the tw 125 and 150. If that doesn't sort it change the springs & grease the slider carriage and rolers.
  21. Nice looking horse you have there,I miss working with them.
