  1. Obviosly as you say they are 'unsightly' your remit is to retain the trees. take the tension off the encircling bands after removing the cage uprights,the later maybe with bolt croppers to avoid the potential of trapping a disc,and gives you more distance from them if they go 'ping'. On the bands themselves,maybe a 4inch grinder to allow better access to the iron and minimising damage to the trees, you might need a 240 genny to use the small grinder,but hey,take a kettle & tea bags too!

  10. I agree with Mozza,can you just pay for a new assesment on the one you failed (cs31),I seem to recall that you can....Just checked with NPTC,and you can retake the assesment without further training,way to go mate!

    Looking good,Ian's right,half the skill of woodturning is about keeping your tools sharp and true. Rub the bevel on the work piece,and lift gently into the cut.

  22. Yep,if you buy 4 of them they work out at £14.69 each! The quality is good,and delivery too. Iwas having a chat to one of their techies to establish exactly what product would best suit my needs,seems like they cover all angles on spinning abrasives,and have time to chat & advise!

  24. Sounds like you need to lower the tickover is all,maybe adjust the low jet,2 minute job,but if you have little knowledge of this process get shown how.
