  1. They would have been my first choice, but as you say, a bit of a yomp from Poole.
  2. Apparently, we do. I checked with them way back when the senior Mr H originally mentioned it, bless him
  3. That's a great film, beautifully shot and with a very emotive subject. If I hadn't been at work, I may well have cozied in to watch it too
  4. Hilliers isn't too far from you. From my own experience of them, it's always better to get up there and choose the tree yourself, if at all possible. Have you tried the RHS Plantfinder?
  5. You're not going??? But you're the one who originally posted about it I'm sure one or two attendees will be more than happy to let you know about what you missed
  6. I wanted to go.... But I left it too late and there were no available places . I've see Mynors before and he's a very interesting bloke; you'll have a good day there.
  7. If it was like that down at my local Vue, I might go to the cinema a bit more often
  8. Why don't you brave mixing with the commoners and ask you local library to get them in for you?
  9. Nice Phaeolus there . I haven't seen any growing above ground level myself. It looks like you had another great day scaring small children up in Whip' Woods. How did the amount and variety of fb's compare to last year's display?
  10. As much as I loves you all, I've had a much better offer for tomorrow morning and for once it's nothing to do with work I'll see what we're doing in the afternoon and maybe take a ride up to meet you to hear all about what we've missed out on.
  11. I hope you're not suggesting that I would be so crasly unprofessional to bunk off for the day??? Not when I have a GPS tracker on me, anyway . Unluckily for Ham, I've got his phone no, so if i finish at anything approaching a reasonable time I'll see which bar you're supporting.
  12. I'm not I'll be throwing stones at you from the other side of the Thames, as I will be starting / finishing my working day a mere few metres from yous.
  13. How are things looking up there, Ham? I'm looking forward to the Second Annual AT Whip Woods Hamadryad's Autumnal Fungal Walk Talk Foray and Social
  14. Are you going to either of their Forest Health Days later in the month?
  15. Instar refers to the stages of development caterpillars go through. They can only increase in size by shedding their skins and they do this typically five to six times (I think) between hatching and before they shed for the last time to form a pupa.
  16. Can't pass up the opportunity to comment on the ''ballistic'' jeans...

    sad story!

I don't know what that bit means It will be interesting to see what management and inspection regime was in place, and whether it will be considered robust enough for the location. Of course, whatever the findings, it doesn't make the accident any less tragic and I hope the family get past this.
  18. I suppose the Tarzan outfit WOULD look a little out of place in the frozen veggie aisle in Tesco. What do you want the QL for? Is it for spares for one you already have, or a resoration project or to use as a working vehicle?
  19. It's still in my calendar and I'm still looking forward to it
  20. Do you get Classic Commercial? Classic & Vintage Commercials I've been to have a look at a couple of QL's from the classifieds from there over the years.
  21. Thanks for posting that Gerrit, it's a cracker What's causing the unusual basal growth?
  22. So you're cranky and aggressive from the nicotine withdrawels and now you're looking at buying yourself a lethal weapon? I know what part of the world I'm going to be avoiding for the forseeable.
  23. Ta Wouldn't you hate the editors for putting that in if that was you? Not that any of us on here would do that...
  24. How many minutes in is this? Ish
