  1. How about this as a starting point http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/employment/32609-groundie-climber-needed-bedfordshire-leighton-buzzard-area-2-weeks-maybe-more.html Do you regularly check, e-arborist, arbjobs etc etc?
  2. Apart from that being a beautiful piece of wood, you have just forced me to Google "Masur Birch" and learn something this afternoon Why the long absence from working with wood?
  3. It must've been your fungi idents that let you down Hama
  4. Good stuff. Kids need to be reintroduced to more scary, "dangerous" activities after years of being over protected. It gives them a fantastic sense of confidence, excitement and appreciation of natural history. I helped organise a kids climbing day in central London a few years back - the H&S and paperwork was an absolute nitemare though!!!
  5. That just adds to the confirmation that you were doing the right thing to get out of this country Now that could be a whole lot of fun on the slower back roads. Of course, when you get your hands on one, it will be in your company livery as it will be solely for work use, cough cough...
  6. No, I wasn't aware of that. Thanks Up until now, I've been treating my MOT, servicing, clothing etc expenses as tax deductible. I'll certainly look into this more.
  7. You wouldn't want to stub your toe on that lump! That's really, really nice. The simple design shows of the wood perfectly
  8. Well that's your manicure ruined for the weekend
  9. I made the mistake of staying up to watch this. Boy, I'm suffering for it this morning!
  10. Going back a few posts, yes, that was a very good talk. I can't believe an hour went so quickly. I generally prefer actually physically attendind a lecture as I like the interaction. That, however, was a close second Does anyone know if there are more in the pipeline?
  11. There should be a link in the notification email. Or, if you login, go to "my classes" in the My Stuff drop down box.
  12. I spied a Mister Croft on the attendees list. I doubt if there's two of 'em!
  13. You're very welcome around at mine, if you're not subscribed
  14. Bump I'm being all mumsy and just reminding everyone that this is on tonight. Sorry Sean, it didn't mean to hijack your thread.
  15. Hi Kim and welcome to AT. That's lovely . Have you got any more pics of your work?
  16. Can I borrow you for a few nights in that case? I've just come back from Ruislip and everything's on lockdown. It's so surreal.
  17. Almost as good as my Sony camera 'phone
  18. I've just seen this pic online. How on earth can any human being deliberately cause this chaos and inflict this level of fear on another person??? Sorry, getting a bit over emotional about it all and what's happening to my friends, colleagues and neighborhood at the moment ;-(
  19. I'm not affected by this thread or your posts I am, however, deeply affected by the destruction of my neighbourhood and other areas of London that I am familiar with. I'm finding the violence and razing very, very upsetting.
  20. How you feeling today? Has the pain eased up a bit?

  22. That's about the most stupid, ill informed and deliberately provocative thing I have read on this forum.
  23. Firstly, these aren't "kids". The people perpertrating this senseless violence are not just teenagers. Live news footage clearly shows that all age ranges are represented and the argument that this is the disaffected youth, fighting for their rights and their future is utter crap! And why are they smashing things up? Are they fighting against famine? Genocide? Totalitarian rule? Err, no, they're not. It's down to a sense of greed and unwarranted personal entitlement that makes these people think it's ok to simply take what the rest of us have to work hard and pay for. There is NO justification for what is happening and trying to find excuses for this behaviour is as dangerous as it is stupid.
  24. Aw, you poor thing . I bet you're not that bad really - you're just playing on it to get the missus running round after you I actually quite like going to the dentist as it makes me feel like a proper girly swot. I have a few fillings from a bit of self neglect in my younger days, but now I don't even warrant a quick polish as I look after them so well
