It's a bit worrying if you didn't know that a heavy reduction on a Silver Birch is not a good idea!!

Hi Paul it was a before after shot. It was a volume reduction just wanted to take a lot of the weight out of the tree.

I think your right I don't tend to think about it as much as I do when I have a chainsaw in my hands

Little job we did the other day it was a great tree, lovely to climb. Spec was 30% reduction due to Ganoderma lipsiense.. ( I think) I'm sure I will be put right if its not...

I have been doing it for 2 years and I got taught to imagine its an orange to peel in 4 sections (If that makes sense). Its probably the thing I dread most but you get job satisfaction when you do a really good job. Just go with your instincts. The worse bit is coming down the tree walking away from it and praying it looks good when you turn around to see it!! Here is one I did its only pics I have....

No its not mine. I just found it on a website but I do like the style of it but would have a different colour. But I would recommend looking for a really good tattoist. Inka in Derby is brilliant if your near that at all pinus but the waiting list is over a year.
