  1. Go for a chocolate milkshake after a work out. It's just as effective, tastes much nicer and is loads cheaper. The milk contains a decent amount of protein with all the additional vit's and minerals and the chocolate provides readily available carbs.
  2. Do hens have teeth? I believe they do. Mutant Chicken Grows Alligatorlike Teeth: Scientific American
  3. They do indeed. It's feet they seem to be missing here in London.

Bournemouth on a warm, sunny summer's evening??? You're a braver soul than me. It's going to be heaving. All that cheap beer and semi naked women everywhere; are you sure that's what you really want to do ?

What about your new workmates - can't they recommend somewhere good to go that's local? You could even go out for a beer or two with them.

Haha It's the inner, mad old woman in me, and that's how I feel most mornings
  12. That's media hype for you. It doesn't mean that one life is worth more than another, or one death is more tragic or devastating than another. It just means that in our fame obsessed world, the death of a celeb' on the front page of a newspaper will sell more copies than yet another soldier dying in an unnecessary and unwinable war.
  13. There are loads of young yaffles about at the moment, even here in suburbia. Nice little vid . I like the yellowhammer calling in the background as well - it's not something I hear much of anymore.

I have often been compared to Leela, it's true. See for yourself:
  15. Is that coz yous lives there ?
  16. We all moan about this country occasionally. When you see pics like those though, it makes you realise how lucky we are to live somewhere that has such stunningly beautiful places still .
  17. The untimely loss of ANY life is a tragedy, regardless of the circumstances.
  18. To follow your perfect evening, I think I've had my very own near perfect day A lay in, and then an all day ride out. It was beautiful weather with stunning scenery, lovely people to ride with and lots of cake stops . I've just got back, pleasantly exhausted, and I'm having yet more cake on the patio in the evening sunshine and listening to the birds. Mmmm, all I'm lacking now is a fit young thing to massage my feet . Other than that, it's been a heavenly day.

That's a lawn mower, isn't it ? Congrats on getting your first motor. What have you named it?
  20. What a sad waste of a beautiful, young, talented life. But that's one of the occupational hazards of junkie lifestyle, which I'm sure she was very much aware of.

    Tree Failures

Have you tried contacting you local TOs? Photos will generally be taken by them, or their contractors, of any tree failure they are called out to. It may also be worth contacting the LTOA LTOA - The London Tree Officers Association.

How about the local knitting circle? It gets you out the house, gives you a new, practical skill (think reindeer jumper Chrissy pressies for all your loved ones) and a large amount of equally bored older ladies
  23. As ever, nice pics T . That hispi' is quite impressive. I'm glad you just about managed to find something to occupy yourself with for the afternoon as I was unable entertain you
  24. This has been mentioned a few times now. It is a risk, but a very, very low one, probably less likely that falling down the stairs. And you don't avoid climbing the stairs while preggers, do you? (And before you point out the obvious biology issues here, it was a hypothetical question ). I've never taken any sort of a swing or impact to my abdomen while climbing in college or in work. I don't think any of my female colleagues have either. Or any of my male ones, come to that. The foetus during the first three months is tiny and is incredibly well protected by amniotic fluid, the womb wall, the pelvis, muscle and fat. The odd bump or strain caused by learning to climb in a very safe, controlled environment isn't likely to make any impact on the developing baby.
