  1. ... If only I didn't already have tickets for the ballet... According to the latest forecast, you're going to have a gorgeous day for it. Enjoy.
  2. janey

    Mr Janey ;-)

    From the album: Me Stuff

  3. Oh yes, there's more to me than big boots, leathers, tattoos and OPM, you know
  4. Go on Rob, for all those ignorami out there, you'd better explain what that actually means. (yes, that does include me ) EDIT: Aha, Google is omniscient . That's niche!
  5. I bet it's supplied the occasional youtube posting with people skidding off it and into the murky depths...
  6. To stumble across that - and the dragon - unexpectedly while I was walking through the woods would be amazing
  7. If I'd meant to be offensive, I wouldn't have posted, if you see what I mean. You must've expected a few (good humoured!) comments with that avatar though? In the same way that if I'd wanted the attention of posting my breasts up as an avatar I wouldn't be that surprised if it promted the odd comment or two
  8. They both put in a couple of grand, did they? LoL. ... No offence meant
  9. Although the bridge looks a whole lot less man made
  10. Oh you're soooo last season . Neil's been at LBH&F for a few years now. As a member of the public you won't be put directly through to anyone in the Arb' section if you call the Council number(s). The call centre staff have been very well trained by the previous manager there and now know that giving out officers' mobile numbers is a very BAD thing to do. In theory, all new enquiries are looked at within 24 hours and anything deemed an emergency will be "flagged" and also a call centre staff member will wonder over to the nearest TO and pass on the details verbally. It may also be worth trying Gristwood's, depending on the nature of your original post, as they are the Borough's fixed term contractor. For any London Borough, contact details for the TO's can be found at Borough Contacts (List), although it does tend to be a bit out of date. You know how these TO types like to swap Boroughs every six months
  11. We all make instant judgements on people's appearance, either consciously or unconsciously. It's a survival stratagy that has served us well. Tattoos and body pircings on display to a customer are only a small part of what you are assessed on. I'd say that clean, neat clothing appropriate to the occasion, personal hygeine, demeanor and your choice of vocabulary will inform your customer's opinion of you way before your inking. My tat's hidden, unlike my 200mm ear pirecings. They have caused some a few comments in the past, but always out of curiosity.
  12. You need more plastic on those bikes of your Motorbikes are my long term love affair as well. My more recent hobby (although I wouldn't class it as a passion) is going to the theatre - I seem to have found myself turning into a bit of a luvvie
  13. Has the pic been cropped to hide the balistic lederhosen lunge?
  14. Ah, the slightly rarer, full frontal lunge
  15. If you know what books you want, then Amazon's second hand section can sometimes have amazingly cheap deals.
  16. I bet Steve's blocking us coz he's jelous we won all the prizes
  17. I just tried to join the fun - and count all my prizes! - but the chat function managed to crash my laptop Something is telling me to stay anti social
  18. Au contraire. It's just the kind of thing I'm after. Any recent job advertisment that requires the PTI, whether it's a desirable or an essential qual' for the position, adds weight to my argument that it is becoming the industry standard for someone at my level and that my employment prospects will be greatly increased if I have it. Can you send a copy to me, if it's not still available online?
  19. Why would you have reduced it so heavily, out of interest? Was it extensively decayed or were there FBs present? If there were, was the tree owner made aware of this and the implictions? Not that it will make any immediate difference to the bus driver, the poor / lucky man.
  20. It's Andy O'Neill, innit ? I haven't been to Bedgebury since I worked there many years ago. With the visitor centre, Go Ape and now these great new sculptures going up, I may try and get down there to see how they're coping without me. Nice post
  21. More Forest Research days planned for 2012. Taken from Hort Week: New Microsoft Word Document.doc
  22. Did any one else read about this a few days ago? Girl, 14, sees father bleed to death after accidentally slicing his neck open with a chainsaw two days before Christmas | Mail Online What a terrible accident. It makes me wonder if it was caused by a kick back of some sort, perhaps by checking the oiling (see the quote below)? Whatever the reasons, it's still a tragedy and my thoughts go to the family. 'It was horrific. We don't know what happened exactly but the only thing I can think is that the chainsaw jumped up and the force threw him backwards.'
  23. I'm needing your help I'm putting a bid together to try and get some funding for doing my PTI course in 2012. Part of this will mean showing that there is a demand for this qualification in our industry and that my chances of gaining employment will be greatly increased when I have added it to my other qual's. If anyone can PM or email me directly ([email protected]) with any current or archived job adverts that specifically ask for the LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection I will be your bffe
  24. Nah, I'd seen the important bit where they, for some bizzarre reason, expected payment to attend. I am resigned to being poor and un educated
