  1. Hope they do show his remaining shows, as they spent part of last week filming here in upper wensleydale
  2. Down 6% today. Taylor wimpey for me
  3. I've only ever been pulled over by the police once in nearly 30 years of driving. This was in Umbria in Italy, when the police suddenly pulled us over in our british registered golf. I've no idea why they pulled us, as they couldn't speak any English and we couldn't speak any Italian. Bit of a fiasco really, but we still have a laugh about it now.
  4. We provide logs included in the price of our cottages in the yorkshire dales. We'd rather they burn my 'free' logs than buy coal. Some, also ask you to pay for the electric, via a meter, and to bring your own bed linen. Best to do some research and look at the terms and condition before booking.
  5. Solo sprayers are great when new. I've promoted them on here before. Their comfortable, stable to fill up and transparent, so you can see how full they are. But, when they get a bit older they tend to wear and drip a bit from the piston area. You can get new seals, but it's the plastic that wears, and they still weep a bit. This can leak onto your lower back. I've now moved onto berthoud sprayers. Just as good as solo, but without the leak problem. Both are better than cooper pegler in my opinion.
  6. It does not make any difference if your in a national park or not. Trees in a national park have no more, but just the same protection as any other area.
  7. A good analogy spud. The tiger, was like you say a great tank, it's presence scared the hell out of allied tank crews. This was called 'tigerphobia' But at 57 tons, compared to 26 for a T34, it was too heavy for most bridges. There were at lease 20 cases of tigers that fell through bridges. It was unsuitable on marshy ground, unreliable and also used a lot of gasoline. That said, it's 88mm gun was deadly and could penetrate 110mm armour at 2000m.
  8. Tend to agree. Better than bought bread. But nothing I've tried over the years beats my nans home baked bread. Sadly, she's no longer with us, but that bread which she made on a Wednesday, and delivered fresh to us, still makes my mouth water today.
  9. Change them back to thread type ASAP. I hate the things.
  10. I did mine as well. Best thing I did
  11. The trouble with cutting up big butts with a big bar is, if you hit something you've a hell of a lot of sharpening to do. Stick with 28" or 30" bar, whichever model of saw you use.
  12. Glad your ok. I've noticed that 3 way karabiners are prone to not locking when they should. I always check mine before a climb now. I was very reluctant to move from screw gate to 3 way all those years ago. However, I wouldnt go back now, even if I could. I still climb using both ends of the rope. I know it has its faults, (dropping heavy pieces of wood onto the loop) but you can't fall from running out of rope with that system.
  13. Well, I've just had the second bloke out for a look. What a difference. Not pushy, a surveyer not a salesman. Gave genuine figures and a price that was over £4000 cheaper than the previous bloke. I've looked up both sets of panels and inverters, and researched both on the Internet. The surveyor pointed me to Facebook where customers were providing good reports of their services. Also, was willing to give me details of previous customers. A lot better experience than last nights bull@@@@ Merchant
  14. I had one firm come out last night. I did my research on them before he arrived, and found out they had been fined for silent phone calls. Anyhow, I let him give his speech. A great salesman, and I can understand how people are taken in by some of them. His price and potential earnings were over the top. Defiantly, won't be going with them. But I knew that from before he arrived. Have some more coming today, with a better track record, from research on Internet.
  15. Think feed in tarrif is around 13p now
  16. Thinking about getting some. I have a south facing bungalow. Just wondered if anyone else is thinking about installing them, with the feed in tarrif dropping all the time.
  17. :confused1:Sarries fan Daft jokes and daft tricks. Still makes me laugh
  18. Stick with the diamond disc. Green wheels are supposed to be very bad for you. If you do use one, always wear a suitable mask.
  19. Beat me to it
  20. The title of the thread is 'estimates'. The post is about quotes. Don't get confused over the two, they are different. I very rarely budge on quotes. People will always try to get you to do it cheaper. Don't worry about it.
  21. Mouldy old banana skins
  22. It doesn't really matter if you pay cash into your account or not, as long as you declare it. I've never paid any in for years. I just keep it at home and declare it in my books.
  23. Yes we have one, as there's no gas in out area. We replaced out old 1970's boiler with a new one about 4 years ago. It's a lot more economical, with no problems with it at all yet. Ours is a boiler made by grant, which get quite good reviews.
  24. Check the music, if you have loads of music on there, you may have to delete some. You can see how much space it's using. Not sure how, but it's quite easy. I found that music was the biggest culprit for taking space.
  25. Was just looking at them. Will give them a ring.
