1. Jeremy Clarkson presents this program about the devastating attack on convoy PQ17, as it sailed from Iceland to Murmansk (Russia) Will definitely be watching.
2. By the way, one sold this week in very good condition with rope on internet auction (not ebay) for £50 plus 15%, buyers fee and Vat. An absolute bargain
3. I never take the rope out of the winch, if the end is frayed its a pain to push through the winch. I just wrap rope up and tie up with a cable tie. Also, I don't bother too much with a long rope, use a polypropylene rope attached to wire rope.
4. This was bugging me for a while. I thought it may be paulownia, but the fruits looked different to those showing on the web. However, the fruits showing in your photo are young fruits. This confused me. Enjoyable half hour spent on a wet and very windy day
5. very wild on north yorks, cumbrian border
6. I also have an interest in RN history. About 10/15 years ago I put together a web site about the Hunt Class escort destroyer HMS Wensleydale. This is the area where I live. I located and interviewed a number of the crew. The story I put together can be found at HMS Wensleydale home page
7. It should be quite easy to find your grandfathers service record. Next of kin can apply to have it sent to them. You should be then able to find out which ship he was on when it got sunk. I got my grandfathers service record quite easily. Takes a few months though.
8. I also knew a bloke who buried the bodies at Belson with a bulldozer. I thought he was the only one. Things must have been that bad, that they needed a few to bury them all.
9. Some very brave men mentioned already. I just hope the youth of today are taught about these men (and women). Part of the reason I posted this over the xmas period.
10. As someone with quite an interest in Military history, I Just wondered how many of you out there have relations who fought during ww2. For starters: my grandfather drove an armoured D8 bulldozer, through France. (spent around a month in Caan as the allies got bogged down there) Went through Holland and into Germany. (Got shot through the shoulder during Rhine crossing at Wesel). Met up with the Russians at Lubeck. Later he was posted to Palestine and helped clean up the damage when The King David Hotel was bombed.
11. I've been sharpening mine for about 7 years with my bench grinder and jig. Never had a rotor bearing in yet.
12. So, lets say you already have CS30/31 and 32, but have not refreshed in over 5 years. If you then do CS33, (and pass) you will automatically be classes as having being refreshed in 30/31/32?
13. Don't think hedge hunter will be replying for a while.
14. "your short on ears and long on mouth" "That'll be the day" "If your looking for trouble, I'll accommodate ya" All John Wayne
15. I think it's last 3 years, least it was when I first registered.
16. watch what your taking. Too many certain painkillers can give you stomach ulcers. Am speaking from personal experience.
17.
Hi there. Leave it with me a day or so and I'll try to remember where I got a replacement from

18. Chris, I'm completely baffled by the question What on earth are you doing on holiday in Grassington??? It's only about 10 miles from where you live. Sorry, can't help with the syc
19. A good piece of kit. Like someone else said, the plastic brackets are a bit weak. Would buy another, but a heavier duty one would be better. A bit too much plastic to break.
20. If it's bacterial canker you should be able to notice a treacle-like ooze coming from infected areas. Very common disease. If it's on the main stem there's not much you can do really. If it's on infected branches, suppose you could prune them out. Personally, I'd probably leave it alone. If it gets worse, think about tree replacement. If not, just live with it.
21. I'm in the same position as you. I've a very reliable L200, so we took a test drive in the Mitsubishi ASX (4x4). Both very impressed.
22. A book about Nazi hunter Simon weisenthal.
