  1. You might find that a top on the chip box stops this happening. Works for me.
  2. Ignore some of the previous posts. I have a 2001 entec and it chips like a dream. Why replace a machine, if it's still doing a good job.
  3. Look at the buds on branches. Some are opposite (ash, maple) etc. some are alternate ( oak, beech) etc. knowing which species are opposite and which are alternate is a simple guide to some species identification. For example, dogwood and willow.
  4. Long live rock and roll, said the late great ronnie James dio. No idea what it's got to do with a kindling machine. But if you've never listened to ronnie, you need to
  5. Thanks, can you tell me where the forward latching relay is?
  6. The no stress works and comes in when it should. The rollers stop, but will not go again by themselves. So each time the no stress comes in, you have to press the indeed roller button to get them going again. Suspect problem is electrical, but any help appreciated
  7. That may be true. Mine was a 2001 model
  8. There are 2 grease nipples. One on each roller. Undo the plastic roller cover and take a look. If it has not got a no stress unit, then take it to a timberwolf dealer and get one fitted. Probably cost you around the £300 to 350 mark, but we'll worth it
  9. Make sure that annoying stihl oil cap in on correctly before you send up the saw. Learn how to wrap and unwrap ropes correctly. Don't leave the key in the chipper before you set off home. You might not find it again. Don't use bungee cord for attaching ladders. Dangerous for your eyes and nearby parked Porsche Try to keep calm. If your worked up, your a lot more likely to make a mistake. Always double check that you have everything before you set off to work. Never plug in an angle grinder with the grinder held against you. It might just start up. Don't think you have done the hardest part of the job, and it's all plain sailing from now on, it may just come back to haunt you.
  10. It's all to do with asulux being banned by EU. Something to do with its use on spinach I think. This had an impact on the uk, as asulux is by far the best way to control bracken. Therefore, it is legal to use for bracken control only, and within certain dates. Somewhere between May and October, roughly.
  11. Sorry, to disappoint, but the wetter might come in useful.
  12. I'd keep quite about that dean, as your customer probably shouldn't have hold of the chemical, unless he just got it within the last few days. It should be used up or handed back to supplier by October 2014. Also, if it's way out of date, don't bother applying it, as it does not work efficiently, anyway. Could be wrong, but I think that's how things stand with asulux at the moment.
  13. Don't buy the screwfix best seller shed. This pile of junk wouldn't stand up to cough, never mind a gale. Worst buy I've made in years. You could easily make your own, but I bought a good quality one, and it's completely different from the screwfix junk.
  14. Why not wait till summer. As you won't be able to get hold of bare root trees till the autumn anyway. Get some spray and mark each tube. Personally, i don't bother, just check when replacing to see which is dead
  15. I've been saying for at least ten years that we should be out as soon as possible. So you know which way I'd vote. Thank god we didn't join the euro. Every country in the eu is naturally fighting its own corner. Unfortunately, there will be always be winners and losers. Some will contribute more and some less. Why should we contribute to the greeks who only work about half a day a week? Why should Germany and other nations have a say in implementing laws that effect the British? The Spanish are making things as difficult as possible in Gibraltar. Turkey wanted to join, but the Greeks and Turks hate each other. Germany wants to be top dog, followed by the striking French. Not to mention all the bribery going on, and all that wasted money. Let's get out ASAP
  16. No need to dig down. Fold the wire out wards at the bottom. About 8", and let the grass grow through. Use a few stones etc to hold it down for a few weeks
  17. Agree, I've used both gustarts and fr jones. No problems, great service by both. I used northern arb as they had a particular pair of chainsaw trousers that I wanted
  18. I had a similar problem with them over a pair of chainsaw trousers that I wanted to exchange. Took about a month to get sorted. Not too impressed
  19. I can recommend Phil Lowe? Try a search of net for his details
  20. I'm not far from you. If you want 4/5m of normal tirfor rope, I'll give you some.
  21. I use an old 372, with inboard clutch, so not too bothered about the oil pump. To be honest, I don't think it would do the pump that much harm running with no oil in it.
  22. Take a look at somerset levels in Wikipedia. This gives a good account of the levels, it's geology, past flooding and attempts to control the water
  23. Also, I don't put any chain oil in the saw
  24. You don't need a mini guide bar with an inboard clutch. That is by far the best set-up
  25. Iv'e got one. A good bit of kit. A bit of locktight on the nuts and its fine. It does say to put locktight on in the manual. Like someone else said, get rid of the wire rope, and buy some dynemma rope. Far better in my opinion.
