  1. My mate had this problem. Had to have a new engine. Dealer/Isuzu paid.
  2. I will be observing the 2 minute silence shortly.
  3. Don't forget that the alternatives to Margaret thatcher were, Michael foot in 1983 or Neil kinnock in 1987. She stood up to Europe, and I'm sure the people of the Falklands are grateful to her. Although, I didn't agree with selling off of council houses. Big mistake that. Unless you were buying one.
  4. I'm not sure what planet you've just arrived from Dan, but a left wing leader has, since the 1970's, been a disaster for the Labour Party. The British public would rather have a blairite party any day than this left wing, unpatriotic, anti Jewish, pro IRA mug. It was the unions that got him elected, not the average labour voter. God help us if he ever gets a sniff at power
  5. Tuna, with mayo, salad cream. Mixed with a bit of pepper. And raw onion.
  6. all the forests around here were only really planted during the 1960's as a tax fiddle. The larger one mentioned in the write up was owned by the Burton brothers, of burtons men's ware fame. There really was no thought about how to eventually get the wood out and to the main roads. Lorries are still leading the wood out today, from along the Roman road.
  7. I live a couple of miles from there. This caused quite a bit of uproar round here. The right decision was made. The alternative was to take hundreds of thousands of tons of timber through the very small village that I live in. The two forests are about 3800 acres in total. Just imagine how many Lorry loads are to come out The road would have been totally knackered. The only people complaining about the Roman road route were those non locals and the swampy brigade. I used to work in these particular woods and know the area well. One idiot even suggested that lorries on the Roman road would destroy cave systems.
  8. Idiot proof tools for the village idiot. I like that!!!!
  9. Those "Brits" should immediately have their British citizenship taken away from them and never allowed back in this country again.
  10. Your quite right Scott. You wouldn't buy anything if you listened to all the horror stories. The ones I was talking about were a 2007 with serious clutch and half shaft problems and a 2005 with engine problems. I have an l200 and have heard loads of bad press about them, but mines a 2004 and I'd buy another. Been just as reliable as my old hilux.
  11. Two mates had them and won't ever buy one again. One was always doing half shafts and clutches. Other had engine problems. Don't know what the new versions are like.
  12. An excellent post. My thoughts too
  13. Sadly, just heard that the actress Maureen O'Hara has died today. She was 95. Many of you will not of heard of her, but she appeared in some great films during the 1940's, 50's and 60's. I remember her most from The Quiet Man, alongside John Wayne, and The Parent Trap, alongside Hayley Mills. A true Hollywood great. RIP Maureen O'Hara
  14. Ive just left the treebay group. I've never found much interesting on there, and seen loads of abusive posts. Never felt the need to comment on anything on there. The rant on there was the final straw
  15. Just pickled my beetroot. Swede doing well in ground. Tomatoes nearly all eaten. Not a bad year, but beetroot crop could have been a bit better.
  16. I paid about £70 for one at auction about 15 years ago, complete with about 100m of cable. Someone in the crowd was overheard saying that I'd paid too much for it. Well, that was one of the best £70 I ever spent. Great bit of kit. Essential in forestry, and arb work.
  17. Tubex are the best. Try greentech for a price. If your going to have sheep grazing in the area you MUST protect them with a fence, otherwise the sheep WILL push over and rub against the guards.
  18. Like most people say, I only invest a bit of spare cash, and the highest invested so for was £1000. I've now got around 10 companies with some making money, others down. I use iWeb as the broker. Only £5 a trade.
  19. I've never paid to sharpen any blades in 10 years. Use a bench grinder and jig. Never had any problems.
  20. Used to have a few shares years ago, but sold them when I got a mortgage. Have just finished paying off the mortgage and started buying a few shares again earlier this year. Not made a fortune yet, but not lost one either. Anyone else like a flutter on the markets?
  21. is there anything you don't need a licence for nowadays????????
  22. 15l 425 model. I had a few of them, but they all developed leaks on the piston, albeit after a lot of use. still a great sprayer and given the choice between solo and cp, I'd go for the solo every day. But berthoud is my preferred choice. Let down only by a crappy filler cap and a filter that wants to jump out of the sprayer every time you fill it with water.
  23. I've now converted to berthoud sprayers. Well worth the money. Still like solo, but had a few leakage problems in the past. Been running the berthouds for a couple of years now, with no problems.
  24. Golf. funny enough, we played east Renfrewshire this year while on a golf trip with the lads. Also used to do a bit of metal detecting and military history research. But golf is my main hobby
  25. I did them years ago, and remember the old blue book well. but because there was no ariel rescue then, I was told that if I did what was cs38, then a cs39 refresher, then I'd be up to date. So that's what I did.
