  1. I've had mine just over 10 years. In that time the things replaced has been, new axle, new exhaust, new rotor fins and new no-stress. The main bearing is fine and has never been replaced. I'm sure it's the original 15 year old rotor bearing. Don't think that's too bad for 10 years work.
  2. I've a entec ch25 at the moment. It's a cracking chipper, and I'd buy another. Mines one of the last made, may 2001. I'm not too sure about parts availability. They are quite heavy on petrol. I tend to disagree about needing 30hp or above. mine will chip all day with no problems. Everything over 3 or 4 inches is a log, so it don't get abused. I also spend a lot of time traveling over the dales. It's light and easily manovered Saying that, mine is 15 years old. I'd buy another, if they were still making them. But your own market and financial position determines what to go for.
  3. I'm sure you'll find it ok. let us know what you think of it.
  4. 16l 2000 model Had them both for about 3 or 4 years. No problems
  5. I have 2, both 15l yellow ones. Can find out the model tomorrow if you wish. Been spraying bracken with them today, and for the last fortnight. No problems at all. The extendable lance comes as standard with them. I think it's an extra with other sprayers.
  6. Still using the same berthoud. Still no problems. recommend to anyone.
  7. Check out Elmer Bernstein, a great film music composer. The great escape, magnificent seven, commencheros.

Don't get me wrong, I would love it if we all lived the utopian dream. Perhaps, we will in the future. Almost everyone wants more money for the NHS and no wars.

any nation with a crackpot in charge. Which has the technology to develop and fire nuclear weapons. Chemical weapons are supposed to be banned, but they have been used fairly recently.

so, what happens if every nation who has a nuclear deterrent gives up their weapons. whats to stop a rogue nation from trying to blackmail others. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the ending of these weapons, but at the moment, the time is not right.

Really think we need to keep our nuclear weapons. Can't the current system just be updated? There's too many nutters about in this world, not to have a deterrent. We don't know what the future holds. Would be at a major disadvantage if Any country or terrorist decides to hold us to ransom if we can't strike back. It's kept the 'nuclear peace' since 1945
  14. Spraying bracken with wellingtons, rubber gloves, spray suit. Was a bit sweaty to say the least
  15. That sums up my opinion. What the hell is that rubbish about blower training?. You'll need a certificate in the correct way to wipe your backside next.
  16. One tip is take a look if the buds are opposite or alternate. It might not give you a definite answer, but can help eliminate a lot of other species.
  17. We used to hand weed with a sickle in the 1980's. A pretty rubbish job, I remember. Sickle blight was a common occurrence. Watch out for wasp nests. If you cut through one of them you'll know about it. Your rate will depend on the size of bracken. Eg, If it's 5 or 6 feet high, or very sparse. Are the trees in tubes or unguarded?. If there in rows, it's easier as you should have a rough idea where the next tree is. If not, it's guess work. All these things will make a huge difference to your price. Personally, I'd tell him it's a day rate or no rate.

Well done to Iceland. Played really well. England were rubbish and got what they deserved
  20. Rather hit a nail than a stone any day. Get used to them. Their part of the job.
  21. I'm a bit worried now. Are you saying I need to be tooled up to when I go for a night out in deepest Barnsley?
  22. Thanks for that one Kev. We might just pop down after a round. Are you offering to come and pick us us?
  23. The annual golfing trip is upon us, and we're soon heading to Barnsley. So, where is good for a night out? Pubs with live bands on would suit us. Most of us are in our 40's, so no modern chart music thumping out. Can't stand that stuff
