  1. Was amazed when I first saw them live. The thing that stood out was how in tune (sorry about the pun) they were with each other. That must only come with decades of playing together. Listening to a lot of snakes and arrows at the moment. Great album.
  2. That's a good question. I don't like too much meat. Like to taste the veg as well. Loads of carrots and diced swede.
  3. I see that Rush have celebrated their 40th anniversary. Saw them in Newcastle, now there's a very talented band. With iron maiden, the best I've seen live.
  4. Listened to the 'heep' last week. Still going strong I believe. Blood red roses, what a track
  5. Is somebody making them again. Can't find the insert
  6. A good sharpen and them blades will be as good as new!!!!!
  7. I know he did lots of local short journeys. But I'm no mechanic, so can't really comment, other than the fact that he had quite a battle on getting sorted as to who was liable. Was about a year old.
  8. I'm not sure, only that he had diesel in the oil. I know that he had it serviced and not by an approved dealer and the problem started then.
  9. My mate had this problem. Had to have a new engine. Dealer/Isuzu paid.
  10. I will be observing the 2 minute silence shortly.
  11. Don't forget that the alternatives to Margaret thatcher were, Michael foot in 1983 or Neil kinnock in 1987. She stood up to Europe, and I'm sure the people of the Falklands are grateful to her. Although, I didn't agree with selling off of council houses. Big mistake that. Unless you were buying one.
  12. I'm not sure what planet you've just arrived from Dan, but a left wing leader has, since the 1970's, been a disaster for the Labour Party. The British public would rather have a blairite party any day than this left wing, unpatriotic, anti Jewish, pro IRA mug. It was the unions that got him elected, not the average labour voter. God help us if he ever gets a sniff at power
  13. Tuna, with mayo, salad cream. Mixed with a bit of pepper. And raw onion.
  14. all the forests around here were only really planted during the 1960's as a tax fiddle. The larger one mentioned in the write up was owned by the Burton brothers, of burtons men's ware fame. There really was no thought about how to eventually get the wood out and to the main roads. Lorries are still leading the wood out today, from along the Roman road.
  15. I live a couple of miles from there. This caused quite a bit of uproar round here. The right decision was made. The alternative was to take hundreds of thousands of tons of timber through the very small village that I live in. The two forests are about 3800 acres in total. Just imagine how many Lorry loads are to come out The road would have been totally knackered. The only people complaining about the Roman road route were those non locals and the swampy brigade. I used to work in these particular woods and know the area well. One idiot even suggested that lorries on the Roman road would destroy cave systems.
  16. Idiot proof tools for the village idiot. I like that!!!!
  17. Those "Brits" should immediately have their British citizenship taken away from them and never allowed back in this country again.
  18. Your quite right Scott. You wouldn't buy anything if you listened to all the horror stories. The ones I was talking about were a 2007 with serious clutch and half shaft problems and a 2005 with engine problems. I have an l200 and have heard loads of bad press about them, but mines a 2004 and I'd buy another. Been just as reliable as my old hilux.
  19. Two mates had them and won't ever buy one again. One was always doing half shafts and clutches. Other had engine problems. Don't know what the new versions are like.
  20. Sadly, just heard that the actress Maureen O'Hara has died today. She was 95. Many of you will not of heard of her, but she appeared in some great films during the 1940's, 50's and 60's. I remember her most from The Quiet Man, alongside John Wayne, and The Parent Trap, alongside Hayley Mills. A true Hollywood great. RIP Maureen O'Hara
  21. Ive just left the treebay group. I've never found much interesting on there, and seen loads of abusive posts. Never felt the need to comment on anything on there. The rant on there was the final straw
  22. Just pickled my beetroot. Swede doing well in ground. Tomatoes nearly all eaten. Not a bad year, but beetroot crop could have been a bit better.
  23. I paid about £70 for one at auction about 15 years ago, complete with about 100m of cable. Someone in the crowd was overheard saying that I'd paid too much for it. Well, that was one of the best £70 I ever spent. Great bit of kit. Essential in forestry, and arb work.
