  1. P.S. the tractor in the back ground is from another set.
  2. Codwood
  3. Yep it be one of these beasties
  4. A1 servicing in Narbeth have a 20m one, or is that too small Tim ?
  5. I have never been that impressed with the 261 after running a 026 for ten years. The 261 is already starting to sound like the mighty Nuffield, i can not adjust the carb properly because of the stupid aluminum sleves on the carb screws, and there are a few other niggly things. So i fancied a change. But the major reason is the Echo dealer, who could not be more helpful.
  6. Mine has been brilliant. Most of my milling has been with an 18" bar powered by an 066, so it flys. The measuring gague does not allow for the saw kerf, so for accurate milling i measure with a small steel ruler.
  7. I have decided to sell my 261 and replace it with an echo 450, mostly because of getting hold parts as i have no Stihl dealer within an hour of me.
  8. Put me down for a cockspur thorn as well.
  9. I use 30 amp fuse wire wrapped around the fuse holders, not had a problem since.
  10. Two wheel drive tractor(50-60hp) and a pto winch will set you back £2000, and solve most of your problems.
  11. Good vid, whats the tunes ?
  12. I can dream, till then lots of groundies
  13. Last weeks fun and games. One and a half silage trailer of logs, one of chip, and half a trailer of sawdust. There was about 2 foot to spare on each side. (And i wont even mention the winch cable snapping )
  14. Is it growing in profusion, with nothing else growing amongst it ? If yes to both then winter Heliotrope. Rampantly invasive
  15. I reckon that this is probably about right. This kind of work is sole distroying, so don't go under pricing. If some ejit wants to flog themselves for bugger all, then let them. Hold your nerve and be helpful.
  16. I have just put a new handle on my fencing mell, if that is any help.
  17. You will be pushing it to get all that done for £600 per hectare. For thinning/ respacing i allow 2-3 days per hectare with three cutters cutting. This will mostly be spear cutting and milling down the brash to the ground. How are the 8' lenghts going to be extracted ? As the remaining brash will be a major hinderance.
  18. As soon as i find them i will let you know.
  19. Nope things have changed a bit. Lantra and NPTC are now identical in terms of course material, both train and independently assess to the same level. Both the Forestry commision and Tilhill now give equall weighting to Lantra & NPTC. As a trainer i have gone with Lantra.
  20. Its not difficult if you have the experiance, just very expensive.
