    Compared with moter manual, a stroke head is productive. A head like these needs years of identical trees to make any money, and i don't get that in west Wales. If i was to go mechanised then it would be a 14 tonner and suitable head.

    Two days of prep , to send big lumps across the A477. Went surprisingly well. I didn't get much time for filming, as we had to keep the traffic flowing .

    Proper biochar is fractured internally during its production, giving it a huge internal surface area. This means it holds moisture in the soil structure, and it means that I have to do alot less watering in the drier months . There are also other claims about nutrients and fungal myceilum, but i have no evidence of these.

    Its Ganoderma, and i confuse myself to which one. Oaks seem to co-exist with this fungi for quite along time, but i expect that the root compaction is not helping and will speed up its demise.

    Really good show, met lots of interesting people. The logging championships were impressive, especially the hot saws. The no sleeping in vehicles was a pain, so spent 2 nights in the car park. The Rotatilt stand let me play, and I was sold until I worked out that I could only lift 100 kg with it on the end of my digger. ( I won't mention the £24k price tag)
