  1. We missed 11.11 yesterday (realised I hadn't heard my phone alarm set for 11.09), and agreed to hold our own silences separately. My little bro arrived in the Afghan yesterday. 4th time for him.
  2. Got your PM Straightfell, lanyard will be in the post next week. I've got a few bits of hitch-cord if you need them? Depends what systems you use. I'm addressing it to 'Mr. S. Fell'. Happy to help out decent guys, but this thieving is out of control. I'm a bit annoyed that some people continually defend the group(s) of thieving scum that cause all this grief TBH.
  3. Good distance from butt to base of top there Daniel. What was it? (I know you measured it!) Nicely done.
  4. Not being funny Hazzy, but are you trying to drop the farmer in the shite?
  5. Mint pic Tom. Dutchie and Benny 'The Panther' lie like that all the time.
  6. Depends where you are. We are still pretty toasty down here in Kent, but it was -6 back in Northumberland at my folks this week (at night). I'd only do a light trim now on a well maintained hedge, even down here. We try and get our big hedge jobs for our educated customers finished by September, and do them again in March before nesting really kicks off.
  7. Refreshing honesty. I have some large fells coming up....
  8. Same as Tommer really. You can sometimes find a diamond in a turd (if diamonds are good tunes and turds are musical genres). The Smiths were the band I was really into.
  9. Me too. The unit should be available as a voluntary aid to learning advanced techniques, rather than being pushed as something that is a LEGAL requirement.

Aye, good one that Will! My wife is an accountant. No valium here....
  11. 3m lanyard spare here mate, one factory spliced eye, used but decent nick. PM and I'll post it up.
  12. My Stella induced tuppence worth tonight.... My groundie Stevo is ticketed, intelligent, picks new stuff up straight away, can run all the rigging, set up, clear up and grafts like a dog. He is well worth £150 S/E on a £400-£450 day. BUT - some days we take a lot less due to weather, poor pricing etc. £150 out of a £200 thick end doesn't leave me and my £40k worth of kit a lot does it? SO - he doesn't get £150 a day, but I wish he did. So does he!
  13. So many stories about people shooting better with 'inferior' guns, aren't there? My Beretta can shoot a lot straighter than I can, that's for sure, but I shot better with my £55 Baikal .410 than I shoot now. Like a harness or a woman Mike, try before you buy if possible.
  14. Essential Arb used to have loads of articles written by clueless journos and hideous clearly posed photos, mixed in with some really good stuff. Should subscribe again really. It was always good having a few copies in the truck on rainy days.

Beat me to it mate, but I was going to go with 568ml 'Le Grandes'!
  16. Some good points being made here fellas. It's almost like a discussion between adults! I'll whap a few Stellas down and see if I can drag the thread into a screaming argument!
  17. Be a bit embarrassing if it was more than a decent splice wouldn't it?
  18. Most of us started there mate! Best value guns out there!
  19. Great idea. Browncow, try and buy it off the bloke next time you see him. We'll all have a whip-round to buy him a new strop. We will then have a sweepstake to see who guesses the failure point closest, small prize for the winner and the proceeds to Childrens Trust. The added bonus is he may live a little longer....
  20. Browning B525 Sporter is a good trap gun Mike, and is steel shot proofed. You could find a brand spanker for about £1400, which would leave enough cash to get it fitted properly, which is more important than an adjustable comb IMO. On second thoughts, you may need an adjustable comb to account for how long your beard is on any particular day....
