  1. As the lads have said, treat each tree individually and you should be ok. I generally find Eucs OK, and pretty strong, but there are a lot of different types. Wouldn't have fancied this one, mind.... [ame=http://youtube.com/watch?v=Y6hEfav9ZwI]Tahune Day 3 Big Dead Tree - YouTube[/ame]
  2. Mental. That last pick was massive, but why not just knock it over? Some strange stuff there.
  3. Thanks Big Man, but we bench once a week only, home gym for the rest of the week. Any tips welcome.
  4. If he's after chaps he has come to the wrong website, surely?
  5. My yard has become that angry pile!
  6. Good numbers, but the second half is too easy. Push yourself man. A 12.something is in your grasp.
  7. Ian, How is you gonna combine with yo uniform? De don't do black....
  8. They are sized normally mate, so if you are a 32" waist order 32" waist chainsaw trousers. There are some good suppliers on here who will be happy to advise you (check out the ad banners to the right). Welcome to Arbtalk mate. Enjoy the ride!
  9. So I could get even fatter? It's a sideline to get rid of arb waste for me Steve, not a full time business. £50 a load! Not. I've found the quickest non-mechanised logging is a couple of blokes firing in for an hour or two after a short day with a pub reward. I sell sub 20% MC logs for a bang on average price, nearly all to repeat customers. I would also like to see a machine process what we do by hand. (We are not powerful, but you know what I mean?)
  10. Very funny you two. My dog Dutchie has suggested sending you a free log in the post.....
  11. I know all this you heathens, apart from the Brighton thing, may try that.... Same pace of swing, always try and parallel the grain blah blah blah. 100 rounds split, lovely. One round 3 bounces, knackered. Why? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY?
  12. Have you seen him Dave? The shockwave from the accident won't have reached his spine yet.
  13. Not one for the big boys, but I still split most of my stuff by hand. My electric hydraulic is slow and best suited to two men for decent productivity. I can split 100's rings without feeling knackered, as long as they split. As soon as I get a hard-splitting piece I have to hit a few times I'm exhausted! Can anyone explain? After 35 years of splitting wood I'm reasonably adept at judging what will split and what won't.
  14. Aye, good pics Maj. Love the one of rigging the big piece.
  15. My 660 has been a great, ultra reliable workhorse. Husky bar cover, obviously, rather than Stihls 2 piece garbage:sneaky2:. I feel it lacks a bit of grunt running a 36" bar, but will push it ok. Much better with a 30", absolute beast with a 25". Can't comment on the 395 other than I've heard great things about them from people who have cut a lot of timber. This is a good positive thread rather than a Stihl vs. Husky slagathon (apart from you Ian:001_tongue:). 880/3120? Hate them both! Overkill for 99% of anything you will face in Britain IMO. (If anyone does massive trees every single day I don't give a f, you are boring me already).
  16. Also blocked the customers summerhouse dunny with a Mexican/Stella induced explosion. Oh dear.
  17. Very dead crack willow today. Persuaded the customer to keep the mono as a favour to David Humphries, and the birds and beasties of this planet. And I'd left the 660 at home. They drew the line at coros! Damn them! The bark was coming off in sheets all the way up, so I bottled it at about 90 feet. Sorry, 19. Forgot the before pic again, but I'm sure you'll all agree the 'during' pic looks nicer than Testcrickets pops? Sorry James, I'm not picking on you!
  18. Fiat Panda 4x4 would suit your slight frame. Glad you weren't badly hurt mate.
  19. Great find Tom, absolutely priceless!
  20. Which tree is it in mate?
  21. Shame Ian, but if you're going to do a job, do it right. Very neat felling there.
  22. There's a lesson there James. The lesson is don't be such a gaylord next time. I would have climbed that pop and rigged it all out in 14 minutes blah blah blah blah.... That rope must have had issues beforehand?
