  1. Spot on 5th, drop it in the right direction now while it’s still relatively easy. And safer.
  2. First 2 in donkeys this morning, lucky first word helped. Yesterday’s 4th word was interesting, can’t believe it wasn’t rejected, especially by Yanks. Not a bad starting word either! S,T and 2 vowels.
  3. That’s great if they will pay it, but I bet they’re not obliged to?
  4. I’m 100% positive I couldn’t notice the difference. A full tank of fuel weighs 600g, and I can’t tell if a saw is full or empty by picking it up. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of lighter saws. I just feel that a lot of the weight-saving is done to the detriment of the lifespan of the saw. It’s like modern trucks, squeezing the pips out of titchy little engines, at the expense of longevity.
  5. Without being a total Luddite, wouldn’t we all rather have a saw that weighed 400g more but lasted for 5 years longer?
  6. BOOM! Wordle 1,252 2/6 ⬜🟨⬜🟨🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  7. New piston will be made of helium apparently.
  8. Yeah @doobin, haven’t you got a mattock?
  9. Wordle 1,251 6/6 ⬜⬜⬜🟨⬜ ⬜⬜🟩🟨⬜ 🟩⬜🟩⬜🟩 🟩⬜🟩⬜🟩 🟩🟨🟩🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  10. I can’t think of many farmers who don’t drive one. Tbf, I also can’t think of any that wouldn’t be better off with a king cab.
  11. Wordle 1,250 3/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜🟩 🟨🟨🟨⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  12. I’m not suicidal just yet! Yes, I’d have to vent it properly somehow.
  13. All I can think of is that the gardener has tried to plant something with a big rootball and can’t dig deep enough because some of the stump is remaining below the level you ground to. Or he’s a blagger….
  14. Well I never did get round to getting one last winter, mainly because my double garage/workshop is so clogged with gear. Plant trailer, chipper, loader, workbench, racking etc. The only place I could easily site a fixed one it would be exhausted through brick straight behind a big photinia that basically covers the external wall. I’ve been looking at these instead. Advantage is it’s more portable, and plugs straight into 240v, so no fricking around with batteries. It does need ventilation, but I reckon I could just have it pointed at me and crack the (stable) door behind it as required. Or cut a vent hole in the bottom of the door which would be easy to close up when not in use. I’m not normally in there for more than an hour at a time, obviously can be more when it’s lashing down. Anyone got any experience of these? 15kW sounds like it would take the chill off pretty quickly. https://www.amazon.co.uk/POLLOR-Kerosene-Workshop-Adjustable-Thermostat/dp/B0DGRTJ4S8/ref=pd_aw_ci_mcx_mh_mcx_views_0_image?pd_rd_w=TNVG6&content-id=amzn1.sym.447d135b-0582-4b0d-8811-df964ba59044%3Aamzn1.symc.aded5f8f-4764-433a-af3c-cae2ef910974&pf_rd_p=447d135b-0582-4b0d-8811-df964ba59044&pf_rd_r=3BVE53NE49V6Z1NK0XD4&pd_rd_wg=fxllh&pd_rd_r=8f4c9ce7-307f-4f52-bea6-b53f112c6db9&pd_rd_i=B0DGRTJ4S8
  15. You should watch it 5th, honestly.
  16. I’m not really talking about your Passat Peds, obviously. I suspect that was bought and paid for years ago! I suspect the market will see a surge next year, especially in towbarless vehicles that have never done any real work. Or even had 4WD engaged!
  17. Supermarket price fixing. TB. Badgers. Effects of weather. Planning issues. Environmental red tape madness. Increased costs esp. fertiliser. Public awareness of meat food chain. Sustainable forestry. Importance of pollinators. Importance of hedgerows. That’s for starters. He also freely admits that he can prop up his farm by knocking out a few episodes of ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’. Most can’t. Yes, it’s scripted and made for (very) good TV, but there is a message behind it all. It’s actually quite depressing when he sits down with Charlie and things get serious.
  18. The general public didn’t have a clue.
  19. How will you market the Passat when you sell it Peds? ’Change of business direction forces sale’ (= ‘I can’t afford the repayments on my reckless and impulsive purchase’).
  20. Speak to a few farmers 5th. Not French ones, obviously. The ludicrous bureaucracy he has highlighted should be enough on it’s own.
  21. Same as Mick. I’ve yet to see a pine respond well to a reduction anyway.
