  1. Brittany isn't that far away mate. Get yourself on the ferry next year, come to Jonesies show, introduce yourself, buy a Stihl keyring, then get on the lash with us. Voila! The savings on the first saw will pay for your trip. Magnifique!
  2. Rhys, stay out of this. I'm trying to get some stuff shipped from Sherrills on the cheap!
  3. Some great pics there 2Bob. Obviously I've done much bigger, more quickly, and I'm great looking and massively endowed. James, spot on about the small jobs making more coin. The margins on bigger jobs are so tight, but if I price in a f-up factor I seem to lose them. A big job for us is 3 days+, so I suppose some is horses for courses. I stick £50/day extra on these to allow for more wear and tear, juice, muscular pain etc.
  4. Justin, do Petzl do a sign-written climbing lid for a bit extra? I'm due a new one, and have some great ideas....
  5. For sure, if we get it. I told him I had a couple of lads from Deal way that were prepared to work for the wood.
  6. Bargain. Would they come to Kent?
  7. Keep the pics coming please! Dutchie is raring to go. This should be her best season yet.
  8. What sort of money did the skip cost?
  9. Lots. 2/3 of the Tranny back with boards was filled with dust and rakings. We try and minimise the dust by bore-cutting the rings and quartering them with wedges, but it didn't help much this time! I reckon that tree could have been done in a couple of hours with a crane and something that could haul away big lumps, but that would have meant a road closure. I was stiff on Wednesday, for sure.
  10. Sherrills have them Ross. Let me know if you are going to order one, I'll have a few bits as well and split the postage with you.
  11. Good call Tom, not much dropzone there! Glad it went well.
  12. God Damn Mattio! I hate it when some other MF is right! I will buy me one of those little 346's. If it's dung, I be lookin' for bluuuuud..
  13. No pictures..... They are great, though. Jonny Turnbull said to buy them. 'Nough said.
  14. 23.54 Friday night. 4 jobs. 5 pints. 1 burnt tea. 1 bottle of Hardys. 5 cans of Stella
  15. How do they set the lines in those trees? I have a copy of Gerry's book, but have since been reading more about Steve Sillett etc. No 'spurs like some wimp logger, man'. I know you use a crossbow, but then what? Really interested in these trees. I will pay homage someday.
  16. Like me then! I would never let a dog as young as Floyd in mate, it might ruin him, and you know that. I'm starting to itch down here, we are starting on the 29th, but Dutchie has been asked for on a day on the 28th. She's keen to do both.
  17. Be great to meet up bro. I'll pack a wedding suit and 20 kilos of arb gear to sell on and pay for my flight. I'll get a reel of Donaghys AP from Honeys as a gift for you! Are you coming over before then? Ross thought Chrimbo/New Year 2011/2012? Easy.
  18. Deerman and Eddie - cracking looking pups, I love this thread.
  19. Glad he's on the mend Matt. Cracking looking dogs, 3 generations looking fit! Will they all work this year?
  20. Ha ha. I wish. I'll have a week max in NZ, wedding is April 21st. I'll be stagging it with a couple of mates probably, so won't have time/inclination to get too far or do too much.
  21. What HP is that Valtra? I know f-all about this side of things and want one just because of that picture!
  22. Don't come over in April. I may need some accomodation.
  23. If it ain't broke don't fix it Tone! I leave mine attached, but check it without busting it when it's set sweet. As Steve has said, a VT dissipates the heat more evenly than most other knots.
