  1. Bit like a crab and a fig8 then? Welcome back Big Man, hope you're well!
  2. Started a month ago. Sick of doing all these 150 footers when you are fully booked.
  3. Of course it slows things down, that's the idea. And yes, you use both hands. It's ok, I still have two! I carry a small fig 8/crab on the back of my harness for long descents from the crown, not viable for when working the crown. Ascending doesn't come into it.
  4. That would be my main worry Deer Man. The strength of the craning point for lifting must always be a factor. It would be fun testing on some smaller field trees to see what failed and where? I'll wait till the next time you work for the guitar wizard John!
  5. Good tip with the bucket Gibbon. We use a 'pop-up' gardeners bag. Folds down over the rigging rope nicely for transport. £7.99. Bargain.
  6. Godalming is Surrey, not Kent. What would the start date be? Know a good grafter who is back end of November, and will be after work.
  7. Imagine if Husky reintroduced the 262? EEC emissions issues I suppose? I'm a Stihl man generally, but my next mid range saw will be 346 or 357.
  8. Sell it to a Geordie mate for £500 would be my best advice.
  9. Do you cretins never use a fig.8 to disperse the heat away from the hitch?
  10. You lot are idiots. $18 million is a lot of money.
  11. 11.8 tonight. 2 pints after work probably not such a great idea.... 29 straight after a 3 minute break for a 103 total. Feel pumped!
  12. Seconded, but have the velcro bottoms. Can a swap the bottoms out for buckled straps when they wear out? 4 years on them now, and they are showing signs of wear. So comfy.
  13. Oldie, but it properly made me chuckle!
  14. I hope one day these thieves have a nasty accident at a zoo and are raped by a gang of polar bears that have nicked a suitcase full of Viagra.
  15. I've just found a video of one of those trees just before Elfinwood and his lads started the butchery.National Geographic Magazine
  16. Pretty much anything beats cutting Blackthorn mate!
  17. 2 crabs alright, DMM revolvers. Pricey solution, but a good investment.
  18. They look awful, but it's a professionally done awful, if you know what I mean? I would have pushed for the fell (as always!), but if the coin is right and the client is happy I've done worse!
  19. Were you stroking your chin when you typed that?
  20. Nice one James, very tidy indeed.
  21. Good heads up Rich. Your saw is really shiny as well, glad the whale blubber came off ok.
  22. Best I've ever heard of. Martyn -
