  1. Stevo did. He knows what I'm like....
  2. Gano, spongy white rot was getting worse the deeper I went. No metal or stones at all:thumbup1:, but loads of old nests, dreys, compost and such, and one decaying squirrel corpse. A squirrel leapt from the treeand legged it when I was climbing yesterday. All the conkers lying around from this tree were tiny, and noone had nicked the big ones. The tree was declining, and the TO has agreed a similar species replant would not be viable. The customer is going to offer to replant some decent standards in the paddock opposite.
  3. It's a great big field, eagle-eye, but there is a main road behind the hedge, with LV lines running along it. Just kidding, you can charge more for climbing.
  4. Ha ha. Halfed mate, full stick wouldn't fit.
  5. More: Stevo not making a great job of pretending the tree was massive! Now the work starts Gutted the hinge to make it easier to pull over The mower will pick the rest up (note hideous lifting technique and Stevo mid-stumble) Where's my G&T? Good job. 1 silly load of chip in Transit (private), 3 Ifor trailer loads of cord, 1 Transit load of cord (private!), approx the same stacked in neighbours garden and 2/3 Transit load of dust and rakings. I need a beer....
  6. Pics from yesterday and today, subbing for a mate to take this ugly, cavity-ridden tree down. TPO removed as it has lost two large limbs since being pollarded (which apparently was advised after the top blew out). Dutchie checks for signs of basal decay Nice looking tree (rhs limb half done) Arty Eat your heart out Reg! Man and beast together
  7. No!!!! I reckon anything above 10 is decent though (55 press ups total).
  8. You'd shift them if you kept the price down. The mountain bike shop at Kielder were selling little energy bars for nearly £2 each! A bar in your shop is a great idea, so is selling a massive selection of hardcore porn.
  9. 880 it is then. I'll try and get pics tomorrow.
  10. I was subbing for a mate today and he got asked to price a job next door. It is to fell a very chunky Holm Oak pollard that has just died, basically a 20' ugly stick - but - it is about 7 1/2' in diameter at the felling point above the flare. We both have 660's, but no 880, and I hate them anyway. I could borrow one at a pinch, but would prefer not to. Would a 660 push a 48" bar and chain, simply to get the thing on the deck? I'm not keen on boring this beast with a 36" 0n the 660 because it is riddled with Gano and cavities, and would prefer to extend the back cuts stood to the side. It is a lump!
  11. I doubt you'll be disappointed Ian, but they must cost about 1 million NZ dollars out there!
  12. The silence from Martyn1 and Stevie Blair speaks volumes....
  13. I drink in my local probably 3 times a week, and also drink at home to make sure my local supermarket won't close down! Some of the incomers to the villages don't seem to realise that pubs will close unless we support them. As said, they will be the first to whinge if that happens, even though they only ever go there on New Years day to show off their new Christmas jumpers, whilst hogging the bar and talking loudly about golf. Golden rule - Fit barmaid = busy pub
  14. There will always be someone pricing lower. They may not last long, but they will always be replaced! Keep your prices and your standards high. Alright then, £250 cash.
  15. That's the thing, you can just hammer these out when you have a few minutes spare at home without spotters or sparring partners any time you fancy it. I'll look like Jodie Marsh in no time. Good numbers Robert. You must be younger than you look.
  16. You'll be too stiff after tonight's effort. You're not 19 anymore.
  17. Sad news. RIP Steve. Those launches won't be the same without you!
  18. Palms down, shoulder width has to be the benchmark.
  19. How far have you got mate? I did it when I was 15, but that was about 5 stone ago!
  20. This is the standard Steve. Rich was just showing off.
  21. First time I've cracked 12 tonight. BobG what are your figures for no arms?
  22. I must admit to practising for a couple of months before posting.... Not on Friday night either!
  23. Honest effort Barrington. Rich, the 12.2 means I did twelve, stood up, dropped, then only managed another 2 before collapsing on my attempt to do thirteen.
  24. Aye, but the second day would have been shifting timber?
