  1. Admittedly, that was a few weeks back....
  2. It's fine on your test (well it was on mine), and is good working practice anyway.
  3. Dutchie is soft as, but sounds pretty fierce if anyone comes up to the truck. I would say she has been a positive asset in winning some jobs for dog-friendly people, and she is still pals with various dogs she has met on jobs. As said, feels weird when she can't come these days.
  4. I bet you a pint you spiked the Pine. Good work Josh, some good thinking there for sure.
  5. You should put your prices up mate. You wouldn't be so busy then.
  6. Convincing some people that their trees don't need 'topping out'. Oh, and trying to clean dogs**t off the sole of your boots with a pointy stick.
  7. I don't know what he said. I agree with him though.
  8. My lab comes out with most days, but I always ok it with the customer. If she's got to stay in the truck all day she stays at home. Some people just don't like dogs, and busy roadside jobs are a no no, as are most commercial sites. We are pretty rural down here, though.
  9. Peckerwoo, you nailed it last year mate. If you don't know what's happening this year, there's no shame in that. I appreciate some of the timely warnings you gave last year.
  10. I am serious. The Oak doesn't 'need' pruning. You need the Oak pruning to achieve some goal that has nothing to do with the Oak! You should have said! Confused? You've come to the right website mate. Welcome.
  11. Great stuff lads. It's amazing what is 'inbuilt' into dogs isn't it? I'd done nowt with Dutchie at the back end of of a season, just took her out, and she bought a pricked hen back to my hand. Soft. She's been overkeen this season, but she's my best mate most of the year. A modern Nov-Jan season is hard to understand for a dog that just wants to pick up pheasants.
  12. Human error. We've all been there. We ended up on Arbtalk FFS! I love the 'simply let the tyres down' answers. Hard to re-inflate on a 44-tonner with a footpump. I know you all meant with full mechanical assistance once the bridge was clear before you start....
  13. Hope you didn't work him too hard Matt, he looks a little smasher! Dad has that knackered 'pleased with my boy' look!
  14. BTW I only condone ladders as a quick and easy means of access into larger trees, often after installing a rope first, and having a groundie 'tail' me as I ascend. 'Working' from ladders is a different thing altogether, and is something I undertake occasionally after stropping in. I see ladders as a tool. Useful in the right hands, potentially lethal in the wrong.
  15. He gets a lift a lift from his 60' crane with a bit of bailer twine twisted through the back belt loops of his Levi's.....
  16. Don't bother James, everyone who does any real graft on here uses them apart from Huck.
  17. Some bad stuff in there for sure, but a very confident performance. He looked at home up there. I don't get the blunt saw though. Daniels (Dadio) videos, amongst others, have shown us that our American cousins love a sharp saw. Didn't look 120 to me either, but what do I know? Might have had a right spindly top. Good find, thanks for posting!
  18. Depends where you are. If you're still lucky enough to have red squirrels I wouldn't leave any.
  19. Welcome Luca! Massive congrats mate! Big up to Hels, give her and Chloe a kiss from me. Also give Mani a thump from Dutchie. Great, great news, you'll have a blinding Christmas for sure. Beers and cigars soon bro. 8lb8oz eh? I reckon he'll be a groundie....
  20. Massive gob on the right and low backcut. Love it.
