  1. So why didn’t he just walk to the pub?
  2. Quite right Jake. I will always have one in the truck.
  3. That's brilliant Craig thank you. [email protected] Full list would be great. Is the grapple bucket the most common attachment for arb? I could get away without counterweights with some of the fat knackers I work with!
  4. Why are the prices of these things such a closely guarded secret? Dealers could at least advertise an RRP, it wouldn't kill them. @Blake@waveney and @Kipper Hire Ltd, what are we looking at ballpark for the smallest Worky Quad with some kind of grab? Can they be driven up ramps into a truck bed, or do you need a separate trailer?
  5. Quite possibly. It's as if someone hasn't thought this through properly.
  6. That’s £25 with the postage Steve, and will be a lot more by the time you add two ropes.
  7. Talking about this with Danny Mac today. Seems most of us have been ignoring WAH regs for years. Hypothetically, if you had been taught to climb on single rope by a training provider since 2005, and have had an accident (fall), could you deem them to be liable?
  8. Seriously mate, heal well and quick. Lesson learned.
  9. I’m with Eggs, and could happily live without TV, although we have a few. The kids watch a bit, but the wife is a bit like Squaredy describes above. Drives me nuts when she starts ironing and shit in the morning before work pretending she’s some kind of super hardworking exec, when in fact it’s stuff that could easily been done instead of watching Strictly Essex on Ice or some such shite. All my friends know if I go round their house and the TV is on I will simply leave unless we have agreed to watch a film or something. Big sporting occasions like the rugby or football World Cups are obvious exceptions. It’s the height of bad manners to have some old crap numbing everyone’s brain in the background.
  10. Serves you right. You should have had two ropes.
  11. @felixthelogchopper could you have a word with Spike?
  12. I used to be pretty bad for keeping old chains. I came to the conclusion if you take them off there's a reason for that and you are better off getting shot of them. My old gaffer had about 200 chains hung up in the workshop 'that would do for a dirty stump'. None of them ever got used and I bet they are still there. This thread reminds me I need to sort my (new) spare chains out. They are rattling around in the new garage/workshop somewhere after a house move.
  13. Good time of year to get stuck into the anaesthetic as well....
  14. Ouch! Fast moving labs are bloody dangerous beasts, more so when they are in company howking around together. I've been wiped out a few times, so have all my kids. A couple of years ago a lady down here had her femur snapped after her own dog lab flattened her. He's a big lad, mind. Hope you fix up quickly mate.
  15. I like keeping chains of all different lengths, pitches and gauges in a filthy, tangled, jumbled mess in an oil-soaked cardboard box under the rear seats in the truck. Once a year throw the whole thing in a bin and buy a load of new chains.
  16. There are a few trees round here that have been responsible for extremely swift speed reduction for careless drivers.
  17. I’m pretty sure I speak for most on here when I say we certainly are. The way you write about things, the questions you raise and answer, your total honesty about your own knowledge and skill set, your willingness to call in help when needed, and the total lack of bs, politics and bickering. It’s like a breath of fresh air. Fair play to you and everyone involved.
  18. Living the dream Alex! Apart from the palms, like.
  19. Yes. Two independent anchor points, so you now need to do poles in pairs adjacent to each other.
  20. You won’t get much freelance work on 40’ trees.
  21. Trainspotting - Going for a walk (Corrour Station) WWW.GOOGLE.COM SICK BOY: Now what? TOMMY: We go for a walk. SPUD: What? TOMMY: A walk! SPUD: But where? TOMMY:...
