  1. Aye the KM56 is a good shout. I bought one as a cheap fix when my 131 shat itself, and worked it like a dog with no issues, nearly all hedgecutting. It died in the end, but to get a few years out of something that isn’t rated as a pro model is pretty commendable.
  2. They are, and they are out of control down here. They seem untouchable. Really sorry to hear this Howard. Torched. FFS.
  3. Could you stretch to a KM94? Just as good as the 131 imo (I have both), but without the valve-temperamental farty 4-mix engine.
  4. I’d be more worried about the weak unions at each of the 3 stems. It’s not looking good. I would remove it and plant something else properly at the correct level.
  5. Really sorry to hear this Howard. Kent is like the Wild West at the minute. Contact the Rural Crime Task Force, far more use than the 999 lot. PM me for a number if you like, although it is available online.
  6. Check out the Arbdogs thread mate!
  7. Just out of interest Mark, what does a dealer service provide? As you well know I’m about to press the button on a new 550xpg mk2, and the opportunity of doubling the warranty is obviously very appealing.
  8. Why should he Eggs? The man has a point. Half of the 'local needs, affordable housing' round here is populated by young lasses who couldn't keep their knickers on long enough to find out the name of the father of their kids.
  9. Khriss the whole world and his wife knows that Husky's have got a 12 month pro user warranty. Didn't you take it up with Husqvarna?
  10. Sounds brilliant J, massive thumbs up from me.
  11. You’re right fellas. What I’m getting it is that it’s a scandal that they’re allowed to build this rubbish. The extra cost of panels and proper insulation is buttons in the scheme of things. The bigger houses on the new estate down here were £700k. At least you get a free eucalyptus on your front lawn with every purchase.
  12. Utter bullshit J. You can have very efficient insulation AND solar panels. Just make it law. Don’t like it? Don’t build a house.
  13. It’s a worthy thread Echo. Climate change has happened for millions of years, naturally. I do believe though that in the last century or so we have artificially accelerated it massively. That can’t be good. I can’t change what China etc. are doing, but at least I’ve stopped using tyres to start fires! We can all help where we can, but even I am intelligent enough to realise that some things are just pissing in the wind. A while back I asked why it wasn’t law that every new-build didn’t have solar panels. Never did get a genuine answer.
  14. Back lean and head lean are two different beasts. Dynamiting bees? Yes, fairly frowned upon I think.
  15. 'Cat' thing and 'mew' post. Love it!
  16. Echo, I'm not having a go, I'm just telling it how it really is. Rules and regs are all well and good, but only IF they are enforced. They simply aren't. How many firms are out there working, right now, this minute with no qualifications, nicked saws, nicked chippers, insufficient/no PPE, no insurance no idea etc? Certificate to tender? Never going to happen. Maybe it would work for bigger firms on bigger commercial contracts, but who wants to pay for it? Domestic arb is totally unregulated.
  17. It's not a niggling question, it's bullshit. Funny how we talk about 'possible new regulations'. Who is going to enforce them? The police won't even turn up if you get your saw nicked, let alone running it minus a CAT or other mods.
  18. Ropewrench and HAAS. Both brilliant ides. Petzl certainly seem to think so.
  19. I’m pretty sure an insurance company would happily take my money to insure my unicorn. The fact that I actually don’t have a unicorn wouldn’t bother them that much.
  20. Link to this legislation please? Preferably from a legal/government source, rather than an insurance company.
  21. Also interested in feedback on the 550 mk2, although they haven't been out long, so it may be limited. Especially with different bar sizes.
  22. I think they should have at least called it the Petzl Bingham.
