  1. I am in herts, have a two chippers, avant, 3.5tonne tipper, tipper trailer, can take wood etc.Dont do much climbing myself now, use a freelance guy, but happy team up on jobs
  2. Using a battery drill. One instance is trying to drill out for a helicoil in a bearing housing. I have a tormek drill sharpener, so sounds like I need to avoid the cobalt, and stick to your recommended suggestions!
  3. I recently purchased some left hand drill bits. Everytime a grease nipple has broke off , I never have been able to remove it, until now! JUst find the bit thats slighty larger than the grease fitting, slow reverse on the drill, and out it comes!
  4. Is there a decent set of drill bits out there for drilling metal? Brought some cobalt ones from screwfix or toolstation, dont seem that great. happy to spend a bit more for quality
  5. Good science, but beware chocolate is poisonous to dogs!
  6. I have to confess, I copied your idea and made one myself. Its great on your own if the panel is dry, but hard work if its wet, and not good for the heavy board panels!
  7. Aspen, what width will they open too? My crusher has a bank of 27mm in a control valve that are hard to undo, without undoing the ones next to it Your pictures not showing
  8. I had a problem with a jcb beaver powerpack. It would only run on half choke, then die after a few minutes. no local lawnmower place would touch it, saying it was a jcb specialist thing, despite me saying it was a honda engine problem. took it to jcb, who after a week said it was the ignition module, but they couldnt repair as they are not honda dealers!! when I went to buy the spares, from a honda dealer, I was told that ignition modules do not go on honda engines, and it must be something else. I eventually persuaded them to look at it. it just needed a new spark plug! thanks jcb for your useful insights
  9. There is no way in the world that truck can carry 1.5 tonnes. A crew cab transit tipper can carry 750kg. My double cab cabstar carries 1tonne. Half a tonne if your lucky I reckon. some guy on another forum recently boasted about buying a 6.3tonne iveco tipper with a crane, and down rating it to 3.5 tonnes to avoid o licence. He could only legally carry half a tonne, but said he would still put 3 tonne on it as its technically a 6.3. He failed to see that vosa would have other ideas.
  10. I forgot to say, I have a brian james plant trailer, and its superb.
  11. I looked at this and the brian james too. Good quality in both of them. Would never have another ifor tipper, build quality is poor, poor welding, useless lock on the hitch.
  12. Is that a 3.5tonne tipper?
  13. As above. Derek fixed my no stress, after timberwolf said if coukdnt be fixed and to buy another one!
  14. Why on earth do you get them to do your vat returnn anyway? If you already have the spreadsheets, surely its all worked out for you? I have come across this before and hmrc will always say its the person who is regsistered for vat who is responsible for checking the return is correct before sending it, and wont accept a mistake from a third party.
  15. Why on earth give away wood! The fact that people are taking it , means there is demand! I sell more softwood than anything, and on occasion will tip cordwood, but charge £60 a load!
  16. What you have experienced is classic when the trailer gross weight is mkre than the truck, or the trailer is tail heavy, causimg lift on the drawbar, pulling the towing vehicle up at the back. get an adjustable toe bar, and make sure the trailer is loaded evenly, and sits level with the jockey wheel retracted when not coupled. You then set your towball height accordingly
  17. You get these kind of clowns pop up now and again. I dropped some woodchip off a few years back, free, to a paddock entrance that was a bit boggy. she complained that her horse had eaten it and got ill. feed the horse properly so its not hungry might be the answer
  18. Not good. Ford keys are easy to copy sadly, and ford dont seem to do anythin about it
  19. Going to get both of those. Sick of grease guns leaking all over the place making a mess. Never had a decent gun yet.
  20. Only if the wood is unseasoned when its burnt, that applies to all timber
  21. Has the same problem with a honda engine, turned out to be the spark plug. It worked when cold, but as it got too hot, it failed. Sounds like the post above will also be worth a go
  22. Why not just get the right manhole cover and frame?
