  1. Looking to expand my list of freelance groundies. Currently based in burnley but shortly moving yards to the bingley area however, we carry out work all over the lancashire/West Yorkshire area. Must have relevant tickets, driving licence and be polite with customers on site.
  2. Had the cabstar for 5 years now and wouldn't have another. Endless problems with it and nissan are as good as useless.
  3. Had a problem with the chipper miss firing whilst under load, had the same issue about a year ago and changing the fuel filters out sorted it. I'm going to replace the fuel pipes and do the filters again but having drained the tank theres a bit of fine grit at the bottom, just wondering if anyone has cleaned the inside of the tank before and if so what's the best way?
  4. I have sent you a DM

  5. I am looking for a groundie for a few days work and possibly more due to increased business. Must have own transport and tickets, please drop me a message for further details.
  6. hi guys, we had our chipper out the other day and it died suddenly without warning but with a slight burning smell. I had a look inside and the fan belt has come off and its buggered so I need to replace that. Would I be right in thinking I am going to need to take the front off, radiator off, back the alternator off then slide the new belt on. Does the fan need to come off too?
  7. Not yet Gareth, I'm going to spend some time over the weekend trying to figure out where the issue is coming from but if I can't solve it I might ring you on Monday if that's ok?
  8. Revs don't seem to have changed so I don't think it's that. Fairly confident it will be an electrical fault somewhere it's just trying to work out what. Might try going round with the leccy tester and see what's what. Is there a wiring diagram anywhere for the control unit?
  9. Hi guys, Had an issue with the reverse feed on my timberwolf 150 chipper which turned out to be a broken wire on the switch. However, a couple of days later the in feed decided not to work. I managed to bypass the switch with a bit of wire so we could get the job done but now I can't work out where the issue is coming from. I have replaced the in feed switch with a brand new one and that hasn't worked. The reverse works fine but not the forward. Having read some old posts would any of the other switches be the cause or could it be something else, relay? Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
  10. Anyone know of a woodchip (and possibly logs) site in the Burnley/Nelson area? Thanks Simon.
  11. Well in our previous house we had no bother with any neighbours despite firing machines up every now and then. I am currently using one of my parents rentals whilst we wait for the legal stuff to go through with the new property, all the paperwork and stuff is up to date. In return for free rent my old man wanted two beech trees taking down and the logs would be used by him. A week after this was done a letter came through from the council reporting that I was running a sawmill and selling logs without planning permission, that same day a member of the council came out and did a spot check. I showed him the tree that had been taken down and the one we were planning on taking down. His own words were "is that it" and " I have better things to do". So he said just carry on as you are and off he went. About three week later another letter with pretty much the exact same wording came through, following day another spot check by the council to find no logs or secret sawmill. This time I pushed to find out who it was that was doing the reporting but they wouldn't tell me. However, next door overheard And came straight over to tell me it was a moaning twat in the corner, apparently he was going knocking on doors to try and get the business shut down with a list of signatures (the list contained one...his). I went and confronted the chap in question and invited him round at any time to come and see this fictitious sawmill, he declined so I politely told him to mind his own business. A week passed by and during high winds another beech had shed a large branch nearly taking out a neighbours conservatory, being just over the road they'd asked if I would sort it which I did. Three days later guess what arrived through the door, another sawmill had sprung up at my property. I phoned the council and lost my rag but they were sympathetic and said they didn't feel the need to come out again and would not be perusing the matter. Surprisingly the council advised me that I should contact the police and report it as non voilent harresment. The police came round I showed them the work that had been done and around the place for evidence of a sawmill next door came over and backed up what I said and off the police went. That moaning twat has now been warned not to contact the council with false accusations or action will be taken against him. 2 months at this property, three council letters, two council spot checks, one police visit and its safe to say I love nothing more than giving the moaining twat the cheesiest of smiles when he drives past. ironically some of the other neighbours I think felt a bit sorry for me when they heard what was going on so out of the 8 houses on the street 5 would like tree work doing.
  12. Just after some advice. At the minute I store some of my tools at my property and logs for my own personal use, any chip and other waste gets taken to different sites. We are about to move into a property with a very large garden with a double garage and office space above. I would like to store some clean wood chip for landscaping jobs that I do, logs and all my tools at the property. Main reason for this is security. Do I need to get planning permission for any of this or change the use to commercial? or can I just carry on as I have been doing?
  13. I have a timberwolf 150 2002 and the no stress isn't kicking in. Checked the belts and they are all at the right tension, is there a way to check the sender unit? Also having fun and games recently when I start it, soon as I release the key it cuts out, I have to kick the starter back in to fire it back up, 2 or 3 times then it finally runs. Any thoughts?
  14. Thanks for the advice I have been very happy with its performance so far it's just the conifers that are the head ache. Other than that it takes a quite a while to fire it up but once running it's fine. Would it be worth taking it to spectrum and getting a full service done in your opinion?
  15. So the stress control and broken fins could be a likely cause.
