  1. It was fitted by the original owner back in 2000. You have to pay an annual subscription to trakker uk for it, and it has to be activated by them, so the police can pick up the signal. There are much better systems on the market now, which require no subscription and can be tracked by the owner. the unit I removed was pretty corroded and the slave battery had leaked so I doubt it would have worked anyway
  2. Having investigated further, it appears they were not tapped into the tailboard lights, but taped to it, the plastic box is in fact a trakker from a way back owner. All disconnected now, new tailboard ordered

  4. my landlord of my yard wanted this stump removed. Used the manitou with the forks pushed together, to lever and snap the surface roots all round the tree, before pushing it over.!
  5. Removed the lighting board today, to discover three wires tapped into the lead. One black with an inline fuse, connected to the negative on the starter motor, a red also with an inline fuse connected to the positive on the starter motor, and a black going to a plastic box mounted on the underside of the chassis. I can only assume it was an attempt to charge the chipper battery from the towing vehicle electrics?
  6. Tell me about it. I ended up buyimg new as I could not find one . Then 7 years later I finally found a virually brand new one with the custom trailer, so I brought it and sold the other one. They seem to be rarer than hens teeth
  7. Its a welded flywheel. and it seems ok. the larger bearing was still ok, but there was only one bearing instead of two together on the funnel side, so this may not have helped!
  8. That sould be useful. This is a grey box, with a almost a ballpoint pen end that somehow reads the flywheel. lst guy was told to spray wd40 on it! Hoping its what you have suggetsed

As some will be aware I am in the middle of overhauling and bringing back to life a 1999 entec 35hp chippit, which has seen some neglect. the guy who owned it, a friend of mine, intimated that the no stress had stopped working, just before the bearings went. Given that tne battery was dud, and he had to jump start it each time, I wondered if this might be the cause, as there would not have been a power supply to it:confused1: timberwolf have given me a price for a complete unit( which for some reason is nkot on their parts list), but is there not somewhere I can send it for repair rather than junk it? Until I have rebuilt the machine and fully tested it on some brush, I wont know if its not working or not! Anyone else had the same trouble?
  11. I had a big grinding job over near chesham, and we used practicality brown. Massive tracked machine, wmad they charge a set fee per day. I would reckon a good day, hed have that lot done
  12. You mean the bit that clamps to the flywheel? If it will work in two halfs, then result. I wont order another

I managed to free the pulley, although the inner was broken, so will need to replace. one puzzling thing, everyone mentions the flywheel having three bearings, two the same size, one larger, yet as you can see, mine appears to have just two. Is this what they b ad on the chippit models before the became entec? I can match them up at a local supplier so thats mot an issue, its just if they have changed the spec, do I need to up rate it?
  14. Thanks. I am guessing you are well experienced in this. I noticed that there is already a slight nick in the pulley, no metal missing, and I have banged it back, I am guessing its been like it for a while without issue. The whole thing has not been looked after, and I reckon on spending around 1400 on spares alone to bring it up to spec
  15. Yes. In fact only two holes had screws in, one was empty. I assumed it had fallen out!
  16. http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff108/dig-dug-dan/Mobile%20Uploads/20160324_162046_zpsgbzgiw8c.jpg Have started the job of replacing the bearings on an entec 30 chippit I have required cheaply. problem is, I have got so far, but cannot for the life of me work out how to get the flywheel off, or the pulley off from the engine side. the pulley on the engine side had three grub screws holding an inner part on the shaft to the pulley, but I still cannot shift it. Any ideas?

  19. No, but someone mentioned double yellow lines were meant not to be parked on. Just pointing out that if disabled get away with it, they cant moan at a trailer
  20. Double yellow lines do not apply to disabled people, so I think a trailer with no plates on is ok

You dont need a training course to use a hired chipper, its not the chipper owners responsibility either, but from experience, as said before, breakdowns from abuse down the line will arise that you cannot easily find who was responsible for. Worse problem is dodgy fuel, I send my crushers out with a special filter funnel now. If they dont use it and the engine gets damaged, they pay
  22. They must have been there some time. It took me half an hour to recover my indespension trailer with an expensive set of dril bits ln that lock!
  23. Yep, thats the one. It all looked genuine to me. Snow plough not much use 51 weeks of the year!
  24. Was that the 528 that was on ebay? I have one, and its been faultless. You have a good machine there
