  1. I agree. At least I know I have done it right. thanks for your input.(I tried to message you but your jnbox was full) now to sit back this winter and enjoy it. Next step, back boiler
  2. Finally I got round to getting the building inspector round from the council to sign off the stove. it took him 20seconds. No mention of the external vent, co2 monitor, or distance from the window, all have been said before. as its in a conservatory, he said none of those rules apply!! happy days.
  3. That really is unlucky. Whats the repair bill cost on that gas main??
  4. No objection to the wall, but the fence is ridiculous where they cannot afford other things within ashridge!!
  5. I ripped one up once that was going right under a conifer stump. Spent half an hour repairing it before the customer got home, only to be told he is not on cable
  6. The beauty of their poor cable laying is that if you break it, they have to repair it free I discovered recently!!
  7. If you are digging by hand, I really wouldnt worry. You would have to go some to bust a service. I never scan in that situation. first clue, look for their gas meter and elec meter. Pipes are usually in a straight line to the road, and you shoild see a stop cock for gas and water. phone should be over head.? yes, you will need to hire a breaker to break out the haunching round the back of the path edge. You may well have to break down a good 12"
  8. Been watching that wall being restored, alomg with all that fencing opposite the green. What a waste of money!!
  9. [104-PRO Gps Tracker Tracking System Car Vehicle Hidden Tracker Magnetic TK104 | eBay QUOTE=jaime bray;1293964]Dig dug Dan, sorry to be cheeky, could you list the product number, model etc of the tracker you have, and if feasible, the contact name/number where you got sorted please. Sounds spot on
  10. Had a similar thing where a customer wanted a sycamore pollarding that had a cable going through it. Waited nearly a year for a shutt off, no joy. Customer got fed up with waiting and got another contractor to do it live!!
  11. Nope. Theirs is a bolt in unit. It needs permanent wiring to enable it to draw power and for you to remotely disable the vehicle.
  12. Yes, and next time they ask for concrete:001_smile:
  13. You need the next model up, it has a longer battery life. About £20 more.
  14. Try a company called sattrak. They come to site to fit. Bear in mind that any wired in tracker is easily ripped out. I have a small wireless magnetic device that just needs a recharge once a month, no monthly fees, and uses a mobile sim. It can be hidden anywhere.
  15. I added up the monthly payments over three years, plus the balloon. It was cheaper than buying it outright from my local dealer!
  16. Brick cleaning acid. I use it all round the house for descaling.
  17. Been using holmwood leasing for all my trucks. Even done some plant finance through them too
  18. I do a lease purchase and have never been penalised on damage. Having said that, I look after my vehicle and keep it in brand new condition. In fact, the vehicle has never been inspected at the end of the agreement.
  19. if you keep it for 15 years, its worth it. otherwise a lease is more tax efficient
  20. I have leased for the past twenty years. Its a no brainer buying outright from new, you lose too much money. Every lease payment is 100% tax deductable. You can buy the vehicle at the end or pay a peppercorn rent. also leasing means the vehicle is under full warranty from new so if any problems, the lease company deals with it. my advice is do not lease through a dealer. Always use an independant company you will get a much better deal
  21. Would be good if it was self propelled. How much?
  22. Unless its over 13tonne, steer clear of the jcb. You only have to break wind sitting on the seat and the plastic panels crack. Gutless and behind the times.
  23. How on earth did it get a hile in it? I have never heard of that on any kubota engine. Something seems a miss to me, but I would still go for it.
  24. Since I put my stove in in feb, all I have burnt is leylandii and spruce, and its burns hot, and with little ash. my mate cannot understand why I dont save the "best" logs for myself and sell tne crap. If its seasoned, its not crap imo, its just the general public think you cannot burn it. for what its worth, I sneaked a bit on to my relatives pile for their open fire, and it never spat once, but the oak did!!
  25. Wessex were such an awkward company to deal with, trying to order some simple drive belts for a pto mower proved just too complicated for them, as well as their lack of response from any enquiry, its always put me off jensen as a result
