  1. Cute pup eggs. Glad you took the plunge!
  2. Gerber multi-tool here and i wouldn't be without it. Comes in handy for so many things
  3. I witnessed almost an exact same incident to this a couple years ago. The guy wasn't quite so lucky. No major harm done but he did have a nice black eye and was pretty shaken up. Didn't climb again after that.
  4. I was wondering the same thing. The balance is spot on at the moment with the battery mounted in the machine
  5. theres 2 of the km hedge cutter heads in my outfit. One is mine, and one of the other guys uses the other one. He's broke his 3 times now. Mines still perfect. Most of his other kit breaks way before mine too, and he always blames the brand. funny that.
  6. I must admit I once put mine on for a horrible crack willow job in the middle of a woodland. Thats the only time though. Hard to believe someone would put them on for a thin barked tree such as a lime, which are generally pretty easy to climb up anyway
  7. This right here is what i want, just big enough for me and the missus. I wouldn't personally want to spend many nights in it but we do like our road trips around europe and staying at hotels every single night gets a bit pricey after a while. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2011-MERCEDES-VITO-113CDI-CAMPER-VAN-PROFESSIONALLY-CONVERTED/263614398240?hash=item3d60a47f20:g:cnAAAOSwBIRa1jdF
  8. This is spot on. It takes time to get to the stage where you are making good money. Many drop out long before they get there. Some people stay in the job all their lives and never get there.
  9. @Kveldssanger Thanks for taking the time to write all this. Its taken me a few weeks to gradually work my way through this thread, I suspect it took you longer to write!
  10. No no no my friend, a quick google search won’t do. You need to spend hours and hours and hours researching on google and YouTube ?
  11. Thats cheap rates, i'm sure you'll find some work
  12. Well done Ian, pays to be persistant

    Tiny echo!

Thats pretty damm impressive for such a small saw. Wish mine cut like that
  14. easier to just chip the stuff that mess around stripping and cleaning it im sure! Cracking job there fella. I'd just love to do that
  15. Total reverse of last year when they all seemed to come out too early
  16. If its free its good My personal favourite is blackthorn, never get it in large enough quantities. When I do cut one down I generally keep as much as possible right down to 2"
  17. in that case 5m, no brainer
  18. i'd find 5m too long personally. theres other options if you have a big stem to block down
  19. Did these ever make it back to market? Anyone still climbing with one of the original ones?
  20. You simply need to give it more time. hard to say that when you have bills to pay. Look for other avenues and keep plugging away
  21. I for one will be glad when this passes, bloody horrible stuff
  22. a decent ISC pulley block or the like at the top. And a bollard such as the Stein 3001 or similar at the bottom. Sub an experience groundsman in for the day, problem solved
  23. Mack

    Theives

Sorry to read all that, especially the part about the phone calls
  24. One climbing rope for both. I use a wrench and valdotain. Im rubbish with a throwline and usually end up climbing the tree and advancing with Ddrt and a lanyard
  25. With the right rigging gear and a GOOD groundsman who knows how to run ropes theres no reason there should be any shock loading.
