Doctors prescribe medication Willy nilly. I know so many people who are on multiple meds and still have problems, end up going back for more. As time goes on and I get to know people more I’m convinced that 99% of their problems would be solved with one medication, a good old anti-depressant

We do bit it’s nothing more than a box rocking exercise. We all know that if a climber cuts himself up a tree so bad that he can’t self rescue then he’s probably a gonner. A seasoned climber MAY just get to someone in time not Harry the grounds my with the serial recuse ticket stands no chance

Wouldn't bother me if I lost my saw in that situation, because if I ever did anything that stupid it would be the day I left the industry in shame to find a rock to crawl under to the end of my days.

Bit confused what I was reading for a second. I thought you were talking about Johnsond, trigger andy, mull, and Scotland. Had to read back in the thread for reference.

I know a guy who put some old jeep tyres on his truck. It was highly illegal and plain dangerous on wet roads, but that truck never got stuck anywhere. Being quite rural I guess he thought it was worth the risk not being pulled by the rozzers

How rude 😁 Some good posts in this thread and I don't really have much to add except emphasizing what Mick said. How much your travelling expenses are isn't really their problem, they are running a business afterall. £120 per day doesn't sound that bad for someone with 3 months experience to be honest, I certainly know of plenty other trainees (thats what you are despite having all the tickets) getting less. At this point the bottom line should be how you feel you are progressing in the company on a technical level rather than financial. If you are cut out for work it won't be long till you are out freelancing on your own earning £200 a day, or even running your own gig and sending your own teams out. Don't forget, the company you are working for know this. If they have been in business for any amount of time then they will have had numerous employees who they trained up who ultimately left them to earn more elsewhere.

Pretty much 6 to 7 days for me but I would very much like to work 1 or 2, who wouldn't? I don't see that happening any time soon though.

Only one company I know of in my area enforcing double ropes for their staff(and I know quite a few companies). No one else is bothering thankfully. I did hear that the one company is still using subbies who are climbing on only one rope though. -
I think there’ll be plenty medium to large firms going under. Small firms with fewer overheads with be more able to ride out the storm potentially, and possibly even sub out or take on part time work if it’s available. there’s going to be plenty of tears to go round though

Mostly a waste of time but have had a couple of jobs from it. -
Nicer feel in the hand for the most part, and knotability. Can't comment on longevity as I discarded the above 2 in favour of my existing ropes. New England is good stuff but im more a fan of Yale cordage. The blue tongue or its variants are amongst the nicest ropes i've used for double rope technique

The people that believe this is a natural cycle and refer to the climate changing repeatedly over time are clearly deluded individuals. Yes of course we know that climate changes over time, thats a fact, but to suggest we are not exxagerating that process one way or another with are actions is pretty naive. Not sure it will happen as quickly as some are suggesting though. We will just have to wait and see I guess

I've used both but preferred the Marlow out of the 2. There are better ropes out there than both of them though.
