  1. watched some fawltey towers a while back ,laughed as much as when i first saw them when i was a kid, classic stuff R.I.P
  2. the ability to moan seems paramount!
  3. what about a tracked chipper and vermeer loader thing or similar?? tracked chippers are ace. then you could just take the chipper if no logs to move etc. carl
  4. thanks for the feed back on the 360 tes bars and chains. got to say pretty pleased with its performance so far considering the price tag. carl
  5. id say marks blog comments were meant to push peoples buttons, spark debate etc, if he had just said one handed chainsaw use is best avoided then id imagine it would of all gone largely noticed. i find it hard to believe that in marks 27 yrs of treework he has never lent out as far as he can and with one hand cut the end off a branch!! ??? carl.
  6. nice picturesque vid. top was very smooth, good groundy. thanks for sharing. carl
  7. it does every thing ,mostly domestic, tows a 6" tracked chipper each day, so often the chip stays onsite but not always. it does a bit of off road stuff seems very capable and leaves a very light foot print even when loaded with chip. we are in a rural area so a transit would nt really suit as we are often in fields to accsess the trees, backs of gardens etc. carl
  8. the 130 tipper (kmr body) at work gets filled up with chip and drives fine, not sure about weights mind, and obviously one has to take it a bit slower than when unladen but id say thats the same for most vehicles.

    Thoughts?

    look like sycamore to me.
  10. thanks. may well do as easier to source locally, that sthil full chisel is nice alright although someone mentioned to it tended to wreck his trouser leg when clipped to the harness?? ( more than micro chisel chains i guess) carl
  11. wondering the same really, it came with a 14" but i would like to swap to a 12". is there much difference between and oregan or sugihara bar?? also where would i purchase an original echo bar?? thanks carl
  12. just got two ECHO CS-501SX at work and they seem real nice and super lightweight and thats running an 18" bar as all we could get, so on an 13" it would be ace. relatively new for us so cant comment on long term reliability.

    So Fed Up

is it tree work your fed up with or your current employment your fed up with?? two different things. if you still like tree work then switch jobs either self employed or a more flexible position. if your bored with tree stuff try something else of retrain. carl
  14. i think it was meant as an instructional /demo video, iam guessing time wasnt a factor here. probably would of been easier and quicker to drop it all and drag round the house but the result would of made a pretty poor "speedline" video!! lol.

i thought that at first but then re watched and saw him calmly climb out!
  18. would an arc welder and a normal 6013 rod work ok for refacing the anvil ?? thanks carl
  19. as in kept you totally dry? interested to see how people find them. thanks carl
  20. either or id say, i always had pfanner stretch airs they seemed to last well, this time saved a few qiud and went for the arbortechs , very lightweight, bit of a tight fit on the thighs but i have got used to it now, i dont think they are going to last as long as the pfanners. in short both decent trousers imo. carl
  21. glad i have the "original black market stuff" then, this rope just gets better!
  22. if its made by doughnys and is called cougar blue is it not all the same?? i have heard some batches can vary in bounce a bit, or is this something different done in the manufacturing process to gain a CE mark? just wondering. thanks carl
  23. i use it for srt with a rope wrench and with a lockjack for drt, tends lovely on the lockjack. the lack of bounce and positive feel is great a very visible color in the tree too. id recommend it. carl
