    Tiny echo!

how would it compare to a sthil 193t ?? sounds like a nice little saw.
  3. really good post , that incident was in kenmare was it? i often find its the small easy jobs where things happen, near misses etc because one thinks ah piece of piss this one, unfortunately cant afford to take ones eye off the ball for a second. carl
  4. funny how its only the people using the zig zag that are commiting these " climber errors" as you put it, as far as i know no other climbing hardware keeps cracking in the tree. i can appreciate that you have got on well with yours and it hasnt cracked, but a lot have. mine included after a week or two of gentle climbing, my mates is years old and is fine and would certainly been bashed and bent more than my one.

  7. to be honest you are asking folks as to whether you have been fair, but as i see it it is impossible to say as you havent given any info on the employee ( new last week or been with you 15yrs? reliable or not?) or the actual emergency, " i need to get home now" could mean very different things for different people. whats done is done , if you thing your in the wrong then apologize. awkward situation for sure. carl
  8. pretty much my thoughts on the matter. id expect my boss and team mates to help me out if the poo hit the fan and iam sure they would expect the same from me, too hard to say without details.
  9. i think petzl are the last people id ask about whether its rated or not for srt!!!!
  10. all over if the rains heavy enough, i should of got on to them but never got round to it and i think to try and return a jacket thats over a year old would be a bit of a P. take. plenty of people love em so maybe i was just unlucky.
  11. would it of been easy to make the call without the picus test, any obvious external signs? good fell btw
  12. my cut and climb leaks, comfy though, wont be buying another! carl
  13. it sure needs it, our 261 has been a pig with the needle bearing, replacing , greasing every day etc!! our old 260 has been thrashed for about 10years never greased the bearing let alone replaced it, cant see how sthil got this so wrong really.. oh well . carl
  14. we use an 8x4 ifor plant with independent ramps for a 6" jensen chipper id imagine the tw would be similar, the trailer seems great, but to be honest ive not tried any others. carl
  15. looks like a neat addition although id imagine you could tip/or drag the chipper easily enough.
  16. yep never make a rope shorter on purpose.... plus i think its a bit better to have a different coloured lanyard carl
  17. cool thanks thats the splice i tried on it, found a fairly clear vid on youtube that helped, as always they made it look a lot easier,( no swearing, blisters tangles in sight!) wont be for climbing just practice or light rigging etc hope this pic uploads alright. thanks carl

  22. whilst shouting down" can i cut it here " every two foot!
  23. ours is 2015 and has a rim sprocket and the needle bearing has gone in next to no time,
  24. everyday god! not even a proper grease point on it like on the huskyies.
  25. took it back to the dealers and got the needle bearing fixed, they said that was the problem, hopefully it will start behaving itself . thanks for your help. carl
