a fella at work just fitted a bit of drain pipe for rakes and forks, seems handy and we have a hook for a piece of ply with rope handles that we tow about to save the lawn. might add a tow hitch for a small trailer in the future. be interested to hear of other time saving mods people have done. carl

just googled the portawrap and its rated for 1000kg , so fairly sure we didnt exeed that. would a larger diameter rope reduce the chances of glaze from the portawrap??? thanks carl

rope was 13/14mm and not sure of the make of portawrap, has got about 3 or 4 inch tube on it if that makes sense. weight of bits.. erm never been that up on weights the heaviest was a large pine limb with a end diameter of about a foot, not crazy big, but pretty heavy. thanks carl

is this possible?? had the rigging rope running through pulleys but it ended up glazed either when doing some normal rigging or when we tagged bits sideways with the tracked chipper whilst lowering them on the portawrap, so is this normal and what was i doing wrong, too bigger bits??? not had any glazing much before. thanks carl

really good point, i often think people in the third world would look at my lifestyle and think wow , probably like winning the lottery to them( and no iam not loaded:001_tongue:) and yet its so easy to think the classic " i should be getting paid more"

what tonnage slings are we talking here?, how do they break, the stiching ? is this to do with the shock load rather than actual weight? just curios so i dont bust one myself! thanks carl

we have the nikkon d3200, seems like a good camera, might depend on what they want to do with it, ie close up, sport etc, we just got the 18-55mm lense with it which only seems to shine at close up portraits and additional lenses can be pricey. carl

saw a few unimog campers in europe, the thought of driving them long distances..... no thanks not to mention sticking in a hundred euros of white diesel every couple of hours!!! still might be good in the depths of africa. carl

great service from treestuff, ordered my rope on sunday night and got it in ireland on thursday afternoon!!! thumbs down at then having to pay 23% extra vat on it here... oh well. carl

this machine has a very solid towing point low down on the undercarriage. thanks for the replies. carl

ive got one, there quite fiddly to use and the short cable length is a pain, but that said ive done a good bit with it and at the price cant really fault it but id imagine the tirfor copies would be a lot more user freindly. carl

and it didnt wear the drive motors or anything?? seems like it could be and handy and very quick way to pull stuff. had the tracked chipper in a little woodland today , a breeze compared with arb trollying all the brash out, just so good having the chipper right next to you all the time! thanks carl

as per title, pulling over trees, rolling logs, dragging out windblow stuff etc. is this a good idea or will it damage the machine??? never used one before so any thoughts on this would be great thanks carl

what size capacity is the 540? we have just got a 530 at work first time working with a tracked chipper, absolutely love it.
