  11. if a tree fails and kills someone what are the knock on effects ( often knee jerk) to the remaining trees regarding management???? hard job for the person making the decisions although id like to think they er on the side of caution around a playground... anyway all blah as they are coming out anyhow, enjoy the job carl
  12. ive used this set up a fair bit, i find the descent is actually a lot smoother with the wrench and normal drt. i mainly just use it for acsess now did use srt for the whole climb for a while but think i prefer drt as most of our trees are small. i found a rock climbing soft link was perfect as a tether. not sure what ART say about using the lockjack on srt?? i need to get the removable pin for mine as taking it off is a pain. you also need a piece of elastic over the shoulder to ensure the wrench moves up properly with you. i think there are threads etc which probably explain the set up in better detail. thanks carl
  13. shame it was not welded up like that from day one.
  14. knew it. saw the thread title then saw you where the last poster and thought bound to be some smutty innuendo!

  17. if its your job? then do it how and when you want, if the client really wants it done then their going to get someone else in asap, that person may well like the idea of wacking the whole limb off. its all a compromise and doesn't sound like your planning on going mad on the tree. carl

  22. ha sorry dude,
  23. i think " TIME " is your best friend here, it takes time for the shock to wear off and it time i believe the memory will fade and you will think about it less and less each day. if you feel it is effecting your safety at work then take time off to process, not sure the ins and outs of the accident but maybe go over safety systems etc to help build confidence in the fact that it wont happen again. good luck with it and hope you are feeling better about it soon, but it will take time. carl
  24. unfortunately mark i have already tried that top tip to no avail!
