  1. great work, how many guys did you have helping? that tractor set up looks like an animal on the right job, thanks for sharing.
  2. ive had two pairs and have been happy with them, tough n comfy and proper leather so you can polish them etc.
  3. looks great, perfect for the rich "one man band" cut n hold n throw into the chipper no groundy required!
  4. thanks for the replies, i think iam leaning towards the cougar blue, well see, not the best time to be buying gear! thanks carl
  5. thanks will try him if not might try treestuff in us. thanks carl
  6. ive narrowed it down to three. 1 cougar blue, sounds good but a bit worried about varying quality? 2 yale kernmaster 11mm, too bouncy? too narrow? plus need a splice and only treestuff seem to sell it with the splice. 3 yale blue tounge, easy to get locally but not so hi vis colours. i climb mainly double rope on a lockjack and a bit of single rope with the rope wrench, our trees are generally under 70ft. help me deside thanks carl
  7. ive used a pantin under the geckos too, works okish, wouldnt dream of drilling into me carbon gecks!
  8. could you of speed lined it?? not being funny just curios. carl
  9. blunting chains!! now thats well out of order !!! seem harsh to dock that much money but then a pisser to lose that much through dopeyness,
  10. thanks for replies, kinda what i thought life span wise, funny tho once you retire them their true strength becomes apparent when you pull over trees, unbog vehicles etc, nice to know what a massive safety factor they have, that said i must still get a new one, cougar blue me thinks:thumbup1: carl
  11. as per title, i know it would be wear dependent just wondering what sort of life span people get from their ropes. thanks carl
  12. thanks.
  13. cheers must get saving
  14. anyone order this from them?? how long did the shipping take and did you have to pay extra duty?? iam shipping to ireland not uk so duty thing could be different. thanks carl

  16. bump, did the op get hold of a saw??? thanks carl
  17. just had a quick flick through it, would be useful to accompany a course or go over with a new trainee, it seemed to just raise points not actually explain anything but maybe its not meant to. carl
  18. what happened to the long haired reg coates???
  19. my thoughts exactly:thumbup1:
  20. sorry gotta disagree on the mk 2 failing because of user error, it was a manufacturing flaw, iam a carefull climber and my mk2 broke in no time, the kit has to withstand some bashes etc whilst in the tree if it doesnt then its not fit for purpose imo, best of luck to those with the mk3 as it is a nice tool just not going to be in my kit bag anymore! carl
  21. just spotted those on treestuff, cool looking bit of kit, is the distance controlled by how much air you put in? carl
  22. i used not to bother with a lanyard so much, then a while back there was a similar thread and i was surprised by how many people said they always used one when cutting, so started using it more and now all the time, not much extra time for a lot of extra benefit if something goes pear shaped, thanks arbtalk for helping me climb safer. carl
  23. fair play that was a tough and tricky job, shame to lose money on it and not so cool to have a member of staff hurt.
  24. a tip for anyone who repairs the own trousers is " braided fishing line" its super tough and the stitches never break. carl
  25. poor devil needs some kiddie ear defenders good to see them learning young tho:thumbup:
