  1. You should fell sorry for me too, as I have to deal with her every day!!
  2. he is a subbie....... which means he isnt an employee which means he cant take me to a tribunal
  3. As there has been so much flack towards me on this matter .......that was to start with just a post about a bit of stupidity. I have given him all his money back and as he is a subbie for me he has also been told not to bother coming in any more. But as its nearly christmas Im now going to get stick coz he`s been effectively sacked! so all those people that complained about me taking his wages from him can now thank themselves for making him unemployed. and as for the fact I named him, so what!!! how many other people do you know called Jason!!??! Whoopie Doo
  4. sorry but who said anything about leaving it on the floor?? His job, regardless of what anyone else says, also includes putting the kit away whilst i am finishing the job, ie cutting the stump up, blowing the site, dealing with customers, or whatever else needs doing while i am busy. If he waits then the job takes longer to complete. You think he should just stand around doing nothing when there are things to do? and the things he has run over, again like I said I was not even there, HE left the things in the way not anyone else. and those things he did not have to pay for. This could have been a lot worse if the damage was worse because I dont have a few thousand to repair the chipper. Perhaps I should have sacked him? But then that would be harsh because its just before christmas!!! so freaking what. If the damage was worse the we wouldn't be able to work and I would be even more out of pocket.
  5. Shall I start topping all the other stuff he has broken over the years.. Blower that he ran over with the truck... Husky saw he ran over with the truck, rakes he has put through the chipper, his own phone he put through the chipper, and how about all the chains he has blunted over the years that he can't sharpen. Yes I suppose ultimately it is all my responsibility but how can I make sure that he doesn't run over saws and blowers when I am not even there? Should I remove all responsibility from him and reduce his wages? People need to learn to respect the kit they are entrusted with and treat it like it's their own.
  6. Before you all start criticising me, it was him that put the flip line and the rest of the kit on the tarp and dragged it out he was supposed to be putting the kit away while I was blowing the rear garden. Then he decided to start chipping the stuff up. I was still in the back garden. And no he doesn't have any kids he still lives at home with his mum. If it wasn't the fact that he is a really good mate then he would have been given the sack for gross negligence. He was lucky that it was only the blades and flip line cause if it had been anything else then he would have been given the sack, mate or not. His mistake could easily have cost me thousands.
  7. I had to call my wife at one piont to find out the torque setting for the blades, as Mark hadnt needed to change any up to that point, and she said "Why" so I told her that Jason will tell her when we get back.... Christ she was pissed of more than I was. I realised earlier in the day that there was no point staying pissed at him for too long cause what had happened, happened. I think the punishment of loosing wages And telling my wife was enough for him to realise the error in his ways!
  8. suffice to say I had to apologise to the client for making the air a little blue but I think he understood why I had to say gosh darn it a few times!!
  9. Yes Jason is a bit lackadaisical with this chipper compared to our old Vermeer. I don't think he realises that he could cause some real damage to himself. Check out my other post for what can happen!! http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/81371-before-after.html#post1208996
  10. What it looks like now, and what it should look like!! This is what happens when my dopey groundsman left my flip-line on the tarp that had conifer hedge clippings on it and then tipped the lot into our new Timberwolf 230 and chipped the lot!!!! Suffice to say I made him pay for a new one and pay the cost of a new pair of blades as they had some serious chunks taken out of them!!! £120 for the flip-line and just over £200 for the new blades. Im just glad that there were no steel karabinas in there or the damage might have been worse. Had the chipper checked over by Mark at Spectrum Plant Cannock and he just flipped the blades over and said the machine was fine... Lucky for Jason!!! (my stupid groundie)
  11. I have a secretary, and she is so much hassle. she brings her kids in to the office, eats my food, drinks my pop, sits around all day playing on facebook and playing games on her kindle. But I cant sack her coz then who else would I sleep with and get to wash my clothes. The only way to sack her would be divorce!!!! lol
  12. I would say that it is definitely a tree....probably, or maybe a large shrub......but definitely a plant, unless its one of those fake phone mast things...possibly...
  13. going to cost more than £50,000 to clear that lot up. looks to me like it was a dodgy skip firm tipping that amount.
  14. Still not enough info. sell yourself properly. "Hi im so and so with x amount of experience with this and that ticket, clean driving licence, own kit likes pugs ect ect" as an employer it really infuriates me when people phone me up saying "ave you got any work mate?" Me " yes thanks plenty" First I am not your mate, second I am your potential employer and would like to be asked treated in the correct manner. Rant over!
