  1. i have just got one of these and it didnt come with an anchor strap, what do people use ?? also does it stay put with just the one strap or have people bought the optional plate that gets cut into the tree? thanks carl

  6. always just used the back handle to choker the strop to.
  7. i use a cheapo " faithfull" €30 job and its lasted years with no leaks, the spray isnt as fine as a cooper pelger though.

  9. thanks piston skirt, you were dead right it was that boot washer, was a bit worried about messing with a new saw but i guess thats the downside of buying a saw off the net as appose to a local dealer, hopefully it will be fine. thanks carl

  11. just took the air filter off my new 360 tes and noticed this small penny sized washer loose in the bottom right hand corner of the air filter housing any ideas where it should be:confused1: thanks carl

  15. hats off to you managing to kill a 260 !! the new work 261 has been a pig with its needle bearing problem so id avoid. the echos are mean to be good but iam yet to try one properly. i think on certain french websites the husky 346xp is still available, ace saw imo although ordering from abroad may not suit. let us know what you get . carl

  17. i spent ages trying to weld with hit and miss results so i went on an evening course two nights a week for a year , really enjoyed it and learnt loads, dont do loads of welding now but iam always happy with the results. id say an smallish inverter mma welder would suit, also an auto dark helmet will really help things. carl
  18. even if you just use it to access the tree to start with., i find it way easier and faster than any drt method. carl

  20. how patient are you??!!! i have a sthil petrol one that i got cheap and its pretty slow and annoying, maybe fine if your just feeding in straight sticks but forks are a no go. if you could try some before you buy would be a good bet.
  21. turns out cresto say there is a 10yr lifespan on the harness. petzl seem to say the same regarding their harnesses too. wouldnt of thought many working harnesses would last that long.
