  1. Is there a difference doing the above compared to say sending your company details and a covering letter to, letting agents, LA's,housing associations, landscapers, construction firms, ground works, tarmacing firms, architects, consultants, schools, etc etc etc. They all probably have some other tree firm on there books, isnt that also poaching? I think Im missing something in how low it all is.
  2. Tbh I couldnt see them lasting very long. Whats the next plan for getting track?
  3. Have you seen this in that link!? [ATTACH]57558[/ATTACH] Looks like a great way to get about. Not as cool as this little fella though[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHJJQ0zNNOM]YouTube - ‪Big Dog‬‏[/ame] Oh, 562XP looks good too.

    Ipads

You need to get an iPad with 3G and a sim and data contract to boot. You can't just sneak your mobile sim into the iPad as it's a special micro jobbie:sneaky2: Although I think google maps will store info and maps, you would just have to look at the area your going to get lost in while on a wireless network if you have no sim!
  5. I wouldnt mind knowing how.
  6. Actually good point, all of my rigging is natural crotch, and also a krab on a sling so yeah double braid is out I'm afraid. I should have mentioned that from the start. I feel like a complete idiot now. Cheers for suggestions though, I will check them out. I was going to get a few pulleys but I know that even if I have them i won't use them all the time and probably just end up wrecking the rope!
  7. tbh I'm surprised that anyone would do an app and not charge for it! I don't even knock the price off the tree job if we do. There a fair bit if with that goes into an app and theres no chance I would be doing that for free. Unless, it was a very good repeat customer, even then the job would have to be a good payer. Also is what's going on here really that much of a hanging offense? Especially since you haven't lost any jobs over it, shows that your customers prefer you. And before anyone asks no I don't try to get work this way, I'm far too lazy to bother looking for customers that way.
  8. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwOMnIuAGOY]YouTube - ‪Stereophonics - Mr. Writer‬‏[/ame] Just for you Lee , [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IakDItZ7f7Q]YouTube - ‪Coldplay - Violet Hill‬‏[/ame]
  9. I assume it didnt kill the tree, what did it do as in slowing them up?
  10. Time I bought a new one, just wondering what the general thoughts are on whats a good one to buy. Bearing in mind it needs to take a little bit of abuse.
  11. That is something that I believe shouldnt happen. Otherwise I/we could be potentially blamed for the failure of numerous trees in the future. Are there any cases of the above? ie tree surgeons being blamed for the failure of trees due to previous work?
  12. No you dont. I just use a google map image and draw in the boundaries if they arent clear. If it all looks very clear and easy to locate the tree from the map then there shouldnt be a problem Cant you arrange a site visit with the TO to go through it?
  13. In the film 'Close encounters of the thrid' kind theres a bit where to stop aliens gettting down the chimney(the pesky buggers:001_rolleyes:) some woman closes over a sort of trap door just above the fire in the chimney breast. I reckon thats the answer your looking for.
  14. I think it might have more to do on how quickly or slowly you get drunk from different beverages. Probably also depends on your mood at the time of drinking too. Having a nice glass of wine with a meal or downing loads of pints in a grotty pub full of sted heads. All good stuff though.
  15. I'm sure Mr Bolam got the joke but you obviously didnt so sorry for any misunderstanding eh!
  16. I'm sure Mr Bolam got the joke but you obviously didnt so sorry for any misunderstanding eh!
  17. Did the tree in the second pic have that much of a lean when he left the ground? Oh, half decentish pics btw.
  18. You spoke to the bloke she is now dating?
  19. As a 'reasonable' person they are supposed to ask first though, I think.
  20. Certain works can be 'enforced' but they do have to try and get the customer to agree first. Unless extreme circumstances, ie wind/storm damage etc.
  21. Hope the tree work went smoother than the video advertising! Actually I dont, I hope to see a big nasty !"*&)*&"($"$ up.
  22. When did all this 'illegality' come into place? Surely that means you can be prosecuted for drilling a hole in the exhaust of your 020! That cant be right, surely!?
  23. Probably the worst looking bit of arb kit I've ever seen. Should go well with the pfanner helmet though.
  24. Dont seem to be able to find the T540xp on any of the Husky web sites now. Looks like they have pulled it! Well thats the conclusion Im jumping too.
  25. There have been a few threads on this but I think the answer is, make sure you have the little notch lined up, make sure the oil isnt over filled(although the newest caps have a little hole so they dont hydraulic and not push in) make sure the bit you twist hasnt moved a bit before you try to fit the cap, clean up any crap around where the cap sits, and push down on the cap as you turn it(probably the most important bit IMO) Tbh you are probably best PMing one of the members called Skyhuck(you can find him from the member list right at the very bottom of the page) as he can probably give you a few pointers.
