Ian, you are a card! Good Morning too you..... Yes, 2.2, which seems to go okay and freshly serviced....Not towing, driving like an old dear in amongst the lorries on a long MWay drag returned 30.1! Towing a 750kg unit on mostly MWay at indicated 60mph got me 26.4!!! what a bag of shshshsh stuff! most unimpressed! I took about 3,300kg of kit to Scotland at 56 all the way to Carlisle and got 15.8 which did not improve my demeanor at all. Anyone report anything on the new style Rodeo or done much with the Amorak? not that we can change now....

As a bodge to keep it going for a while, I'd be tempted to sandwich two bits of rubber stuff between two big flat washers - one inside and one outside and pull them together with a suitable nut/bolt. But to be honest, replace the whole thing! destroy it to get it out and squeeze a new one in with it well lathered with slippery stuff and a ounce of brute force!

I'd probably still be in the tree game instead of working for GreenMech if it wasn't for a choice in women! Damned expensive mistake that was!

As the title says! My GreenMech tow tug isn't as good as I thought it should be. Anything from 15mpg to 27mpg. I have only got more than 30mpg once in 22k miles.....

Put the third one on and it would be a general purpose ripper, not wide enough on its own to be for tramlines surely.

There has been a recent change in GreenMech dealerships covering the NP and CF postcodes in South Wales. Cambrian Plant have taken a step back to concentrate the business in construction machinery sales and the hire fleet, which does include GreenMech woodchippers. A good start is a groundcare machinery dealer as they often have sharpening equipment available, next choice is an engineering shop as they should have a surface grinder.

It very probably does. To be frank, common sense would come into play here as it would not be sensible to squirt water at high pressure into anything sensitive. Good point though. Keep your equipment clean but please be sensible with anything that is under pressure.

Al Thomson, GreenMech's man in Scotland is going off to pastures new at the end of this week. That brings a change in the sales areas as Al looked after the areas of The Borders, Fife, Lothians, Perth-shire, Kinross and Stirlingshire. This is the start of Alastair Thomson's last week with GreenMech before he goes off to pastures new. Al started with us at the start of the down turn in the global economy about 6 years ago covering the North of England and Scotland and witnessed the change of dealerships in the area and the introduction of key changes in woodchipper design with the take off of the Wee Chipper Club and the CS100, the massively popular QuadChip and QuadTrak and the class leading Arborist range. As well as the continued success of the most used tracked machine, the 1928 SafeTrac. Al has been a real asset to GreenMech and his dealers and a well respected member of the groundcare machinery sales environment. I recently spent some time with Al and his family, starting the handover procedure and his wit and wisdom will be missed by all that he encountered. I am sure that all who knew Al will join me in thanking Al for his commitment, loyalty and integrity during his tenure and wish him well with his new employer, Alo UK Ltd - Quicke and Trima Front Loaders. Al finishes at the end of the week and following from that, the sales duties in the North of England and Scotland will be shared by me and Martin Lucas, the GreenMech Sales Director. No one has mentioned the correct device for tightening bolts to the correct measurement - a torque spanner or drive! Other tools which come in handy in the workshop for maintanence include a decent pressure washer and compressor.

Matt Yull in Chingford had a bloody good example in a shed years back.

Gibb's Woodchuck and Exenco are two that were available here.

It is Tom, but I don't know anyone that took it up. The disc blades are fitted as standard still. Fwiw, the quad version would be similar in weight, but, at the mo, it has been stalled.

Not a CS100 but a Rajo or we badged them as GMR100. Non of them as good as a CS100 mind.....;-p

Sorry but a year 2k machine will only use the disc blades. Still cheap and hard wearing....You say 10"? What is the serial number and I'll give you the history and original spec.

Top tips there John - asa the man says..... check that all is good under the top cover and that the switches move s they should and that the actuator is moving when it should and not shifted and stuck. Take off each hershman connector and test to see if voltage is getting there when it should. Feel the coils for heat after it has been run for a while - a hot or warm unit would say hat the coil is breaking down internally. Give the valve block a tap with a hammer to see if the spool is jammed and gets free....
