  1. Heat up a strong piece of wire or needle and melt it to the plastic bit through the spark plug hole let it cool off and pull it out... Worked for me once when I did the same.
  2. C'mon though you got to admit most employies out there sit in great delight at the end of the day telling all there mates family they did f all today
  3. I yell at them Dave until they won't get out of the truck in fear of doing some thing wrong ... So then you have to tie a rope around there legs and put the back on full tip dragging them out of the truck until they are dangling in the air upside down ... Then we poke them with sticks until they submit.
  4. Basically I think young lads require constant beasting and abuse, I had it and it didn't do me any harm and I'm sure a lot of other people did in this industry too... Taking some one aside and "saying excuse me would one like to hurry up" does not really work yelling at them and making them look and feel stupid so they sort them selfs out to prove a point to you and become better than the person doing the yelling seems too, if they curl in to a ball and sit in the lorry rocking refusing to come out then you have saved a great deal of time working out if they are cut out for tree work or not .. If they still have not sorted them selfs out after a few weeks its good bye if they have not left already!
  5. Farmi 260 is a good machine from the ones I've used.
  6. Have had this a few times in Bp and shell garages... I know your Frustration!
  7. As far as I see it the refresher argument is absolute rubbish .... Another reason for paper pushers to have a job and accessors to charge there fees, for those in the industry who are not already struggling and working them selfs in the real world ... The only accident I'm going to have is pushing my self to a limit to pay for all your course fees! ... In 15 years I have not had one accident since my training at merrist wood and following every brake through and innovation in the industry and I have dismantled and felled thousands of trees. This will not stop accidents it will drive are prices up higher making a nice little influx for cowboys who will have accidents.
  8. Mine seems to have sorted its self out with the oiling issues it first hand... Weird!! No melted plastic yet.
  9. Went to that punk thing in Hyde park were the sex pistols played in there original line up... Had been raving the up all night before and working all week ,was knackered !! so mid afternoon I went back to the car for a nap thinking I could get back in ... Could not get back in but I spotted a crowd of Mohawks who are smashing the fence down to anarchy in the UK to get in ,so ran over ..it was probably the best sound track you could ever have riding a rocking fence and running from security guards straight in the middle of the gig , and found every one exactly were I left hours earlier !
  10. Doing that cured mine. Hope it's cured this time!
  11. If you can visualise how it's going to come out best go with it... Carvings like that I'm not massively experienced but my best work has been done through what you visualise in a bit of wood,if that makes any sense!!
  12. Nice soft timber will carve great .. Just treat it well with a preservative and should be ok.. That's a load!!
  13. Did you clean the tank out with petrol?? Mine gave me a lot of grief in the first few months but touch wood has not played up in a while.
  14. Why on the left Carl?? You left handed?
  15. The little bearings in your clutch drum/bar sprocket ... Rape seed has better lubrication and heat property's it won't congeal in to a horrible mess in oil pumps and pipes if left like some veg oil either.
  16. Its a ripper for sure and seems to get a lot better once broken in as all saws do.. There has been complaints about flimsy build quality.....all I have done with mine is dirty big leylandii hedges and 70ft leylandii take downs in the last two weeks.... The sort of work that usually brakes a 200t chain brake handle and pulls out a few wires ... but it's coped well with being dragged through extremely tight and claustrophobic conditions... My only complaint is the clutch sticker has fallen off! Seriously though looking at it there appears to be wear from the chainsaw strop loop rubbing on the back.. There has already been one complaint of the loop braking , I'll try and get a pic up later to show what I mean... Mine seems to need cold starting with the choke a lot if put down for more than 10 mins but you soon get used to the quirky auto tune habits as it lays down a fast power band through big cuts. Overall it's a great performer once you have got used to the ergonomics of the saw,it feels and handles different to a 200t and that takes some getting used to after 15 years of using them day in and out as the saw if choice in a tree. The saw comes with three different hand grips which is a nice idea as well. Also an important thing to show your groundy as well is the sight glass on the tank is half full, not full !!! I was wondering why I could do a lot of cutting then barely none! Try one!
  17. Genuine bio oil with a tacking agent isn't ... Clarkes stuff is very well priced.
  18. Great news David , glad they did not get away with it this time!
  19. I'll keep my eye open for that,Looks interesting stuff. On a whole stihl bars are a better design with the greaseless sprockets, I have to be honest and put my hands up to never greasing any of the sprockets on my husky/Oregon bars though... It could explain why I get a relatively short service life from them.
  20. Rape seed mixed 50/50 with super tack from clarkes... I'm not convinced on running no tacking agent on bigger bars and have a few shorter Oregon bars blow there sprockets on pure rapeseed.
  21. Apart from the fecked gear box??
