  1. You have put mixed 2 stroke not straight fuel in ?
  2. They changed the carb to cylinder inlet on the newer models ... I don't know why as the newer ones soak the filter unless upright . I put the newer model carb on an old engine after my new one dropped a valve and destroyed the engine after a years use and it was only ever run on aspen... It was fine until I replace the inlet boot thing because it broke with the newer type and now its incontinant , not good on a clients lawn!
  3. T540 would be the only option if you need an alround saw .. The 150 is a luxury pruning saw only suited really for stuff up to 4-5"... It's good for that that but probably a more expensive and worth while option as a hand saw alternative.
  4. I did like the army gortex ( sorry Steve ) the hoods on those are so big and designed for wearing over a helmet it makes them a big plus nothing worse than being bone dry but water dripping down your neck.. Not great practically for climbing but good for grounding apart from the camo !
  5. 026 260 always went home in a box of bits or seized on the saws I've used hard for a day and if that was not bad the general performance and anti vibes are crap.
  6. The saviour is the the 150T !!!
  7. Stihl 150, clean that bar! Stihl 200t x2, bloody carbs!!! Arghh !! 357xpg 7 years old on its last but won't give up! 560xp two years old and very well used..where's a local dealer with the software?. 372xp my Friday afternoon saw of the bunch, likes to rattle loose and continually fall to bits. 395xp ported and sorted by spud... Currently on the 372's 20" bar and far more fun.
  8. My dad ran one on his mog and it was hated by all!... The farmi 260 is a better machine by far.
  9. Sad story ... I know of a kid in the UK the same age would not go to school so his dad got him involved in work and he nearly cut his fingers off hse involved and they lost all there council contracts and went under ... I really don't get it though as I grew up in the industry and was never allowed to touch a saw unless under strict supervision and again untill I was 18 and had passed my nptc's.. It many ways it helped me as I had much time to pick up the right and wrong ways of doing things and i firmly believe to be a good tree worker you have to do a long aprentaship before being allowed to cut or climb by your self.
  10. Was it not fungicidal as well , I can see growth hormones and fungicide being beneficial but not a total seal of the wound .. Maybe more research should be done.
  11. I had my doubts .... It's the only stihl I would keep in my line up now.
  12. I can imagine the novelty wears off pretty quick!
  13. Thought you had progressed on to harvesters now mate any ways!
  14. Had mine same time as stubby I guess only faults have been the starter recoil and the brake band and both have been offered under warrantee and upgraded... I love mine ! The finest saw I have used , I seriously think the auto tune is the best thing developed but the saw in the hands of many people like a tree crew ,I would opt for a stihl as they seem to plod on regardless no matter if they are used blunt or filters clogged ect ... Pro husky saws are a one cutter saw only from my experience ... You need to check them over constantly for loose bolts first few months keep them sharp but in wood they are far more productive than the stihl pro range IMO if you are using them daily and figure out there quirks.
  15. Don't do it with a dull chain either!!! I love these saws but they are a one man experienced cutter saw ... I give my 560 to my groundy for the day he will happily dull the chain and it will run a bag of crap .... Hot starts take some figuring but that's why they have a primer bulb.
  16. Agree mate ... I like the comments though , sort of hysteric response for crap written like that.
  17. Flat coke followed by lots of water i find does the trick.
  18. I had to sort out a job recently after the farm had rolled and wrote of a brand new manitu ... I originally quoted for it very cheaply but the farmer said no to expensive... I heard the insurance would not pay out as it was not supposed to be used for pushing over 70ft leylandii's so any price really would of been cheaper !
  19. Your friend sounds a bell end to be honest mate..
  20. I'd give him a tenner for it and that's generous!
  21. http:// 395 in foreground if you get an up close photo the saw you posted has no similar features at all.
  22. Salad all this week .. Think I'm gonna stick with that untill it gets cooler bread just bloats me out and I don't wanna move and get the urge to sleep.
