Range of prices for forestry chipwood .

Is this general grade chip? Ie gone through any type of chipper as volume reduction? Or has it gone through biomass chippers so it's the perfect chip? If its average chip then it will be £21 ton if its graded clean chip ie g 70 or something like that and has gone through biomass then from 10 year ago it was closer to 100 a ton, but that was few years ago and south Dorset price, quite far from Didcot -

The chisel edge from a grinder will go some way to replicating " square ground " full chisel but not entirely of course if you are sharpening a " round ground " chain .

If that doesn't work, WD40/GT85....open the throttle, no choke and get a couple of light squirts down the back of the carb....after removing the air filter.

So you've got the tractors and want to spend 7k. Personally I'd just bite the bullet and spend 2k on a small flail the same width as the tractor. Or keep you're eye out for an ex council front flail ride on mower that's going to be diesel and a hell of a lot more comfortable and safer. As realistically the neighbours aren't going to pay more than £50 an hour for mowing.

Mark i offered a good proper offer for that mill and others have confirmed its the correct value. I have great respect for you and we have spoken on the phone before. I am really not on the lookout for a mill but i have took on a young lad and my Tom (autism) gets on with luke great so it would be a project for them OFFER IS 3K
