  2. Looks to me that the valve are not very well seated, so will have a look and possibly clean it up before reassembly.
  3. Well, I have just placed an order for Starlink for my business site. Grand total cost £19 for all the kit (special offer right now I believe) and £35 per month for unlimited data at a max speed of 100MBS. I never own the kit so if I want to switch it off I have to send it back. No minimum contract. Realistically I have not yet heard a bad report on its performance even in this immediate area so I doubt I will send it back. Only trouble I had is that my existing connection is so slow the Starlink website struggled to even load. Got there in the end though. I went for the domestic package even though it is for my work site - the difference seems unimportant to my needs. And apparently when it arrives I just pop it on a roof or a pole and plug it in to the mains and the supplied router. Hopefully then once I have used this for a few months and am happy it is reliable I will transfer my landline number to it with a separate provider which will cost me about £10 per month. Incredible. £45 per month for landline and fast broadband and loads of calls (for an extra £5 per month I could make this unlimited including international). I will report back here how it actually pans out.

  5. The taper lock pulleys I had to deal with had 4 holes but the thread was in halves, i.e you could use the half thread in a hole to either force the inner from the outer or to screw the inner into the outer, depending on which pair was used.
  6. I almost did’t post the result for the shame I have brought on my family name. Rough with the smooth and all that!

  8. Googly eyes are brilliant. My uni had a mock courtroom. [Someone] put googly eyes on the lion on the royal crest on the wall behind the judge. It presided over a lot of cases. Loads of my classmates have LinkedIn profile photos in front of it. A mate was back at the uni the other day. They’re still there, a decade on. Nobody’s noticed. One of several things I occasionally wake up laughing about.
  9. Good morning Arbtalkers and happy Friday 😊
  10. I did the same Dan, then they tried to charge me extra when my Transit needed recovering, even though they’d bloody bought it for me! It took a big row with them to get it sorted.
  11. The China will be the UK’s salvation trip Mark, don’t you buy into it. You wonder why I question the wisdom of your degree level education 🤷‍♂️ What was it in by the way??.

  13. A big city-slicker lawyer went duck hunting. He shot and dropped a bird, but it fell into a farmer's field on the other side of a fence. As the lawyer climbed over the fence, an elderly farmer drove up on his tractor and asked him what he was doing. The lawyer said, "I shot a duck and it fell in this field, and now I'm going to get it." The old farmer replied, "This is my property, and you are not coming over here." The angry lawyer said, "I am one of the best trial attorneys in the country and, if you don't let me get that duck, I'll sue you and take everything you own." The old farmer smiled and said, "Apparently, you don't know how we settle disputes in these parts. We settle small disagreements with the 'Three Kick Rule.'" The lawyer asked, "What is the 'Three Kick Rule'?" The Farmer replied, "Well, because the dispute occurs on my land, I get to go first. I kick you three times and then you kick me three times and so on back and forth until someone gives up." The lawyer quickly thought about the proposed contest and decided that he could easily take the old codger. He agreed to abide by the local custom. The old farmer slowly climbed down from the tractor and walked up to the attorney. His first kick planted the toe of his heavy steel toed work boot into the lawyer's groin and dropped him to his knees. His second kick to the midriff sent the lawyer's last meal gush'n' from his mouth. The lawyer was on all fours when the farmer's third kick to his rear end, sent him face-first into a fresh cow pie. The lawyer summoned every bit of his will and dragged himself to his feet. Wiping his face with the arm of his jacket, he said, "Okay, you old fart. Now it's my turn." The old farmer smiled and said, "Nah, I give up. You can have the duck."
  14. Comprehension 🤔Stick to the TDS thread if you want a Trump drip wee man, liars and anonymous blaggers tend to get away with a lot more in there. Alternative is you getting your arse handed to you big time again. I wasn’t aware you had imposed time limits on replies 🤣 I’ll say one thing SP/TA you are one thick skinned shameless bugger. Actually on second thoughts you did sulk for a couple of days after a dose of public humiliation but at the end of day it’s a free country for now so I guess you are entitled to your opinion albeit most of the time it’s based on nothing but google rather than life experiences.
  15. Kram, it's obvious that you're fully comitted to your current level of understanding. Why let experience interfere with what you can learn on line Best of luck.
  16. Never had this either, so many e-clips in the world working fine there is something wrong with your setup. Either the clip , shaft, chain, sprocket.

  19. Another one from yesterday, rotten chesnut, stem filled with soil and not much wood holding it up. Other guy had already topped the brush off the day before and left it for me to peice down the stem.
  20. HI John, I hope business is doing well for you. We are based just outside of Llay in Wrexham and wanted to inform you of our tip site should you have any spare logs, hardwood or softwood that may make disposal a little easier for yourself. I also have a decent size trailer and would be happy from time to time to collect from local work sites. Wishing you a Happy and healthy 2026 Regards Rob robswood 01244912999
  21. Right, so coming back to this, my hydraulic couplings haven't got any easier. I can see some writing stamped on some of these parts: DNP PLT 4 ISO10M - M19 ITALY and DNP PLT4 ISO10F - I19 ITALY. What's confusing is that the two sides don't look the same. This might be because my grab isn't a standard part; it was fabbed up to fit my Sherpa from an Intermercato grab by the previous owner. I'm looking at buying Manuli Female Half Only 3/8" BSP 3/8" Size Quick Release Coupling WWW.LSENGINEERS.CO.UK Overview: The Manuli Female Half Only 3/8" BSP Quick Release Coupling is a genuine Manuli part for reliable fluid transfer in hydraulic and pneumatic circuits. Also @doobin and other Sherpa owners, does this look familiar or are your couplings different?
  22. Zac, sent you a PM.

  25. I helicoiled the spark plug thread in a VW Fastback once . Took the engine out to get at it . I asked an old VW air cooled expert ( long time dead now ) called Rudolph Krouzer how I should get the swarf out . He said put the engine back in and start it up . The mag/alloy swarf will just burn away . It did .
  26. If its for a wildlife charity its about a pound a tree , that was what two forestry companies were charging
  27. Yeah, aged 14 I got out blind bearings in motorcycles by sticking the case in my mum's oven at full whack until they just fell out... but as you say , sometimes the case needed thumped on a plank 👍
