If I had the budget, for 4" saplings I am not sure whether I would go for one of the 'names' and the premium they command, or to go for a 'domestic' saw, difference in price could give you an extra battery or 2 which might be compatible with other battery tools you might have. I wouldn't expect them to have the same build quality but you should be able to replace them - keeping the battery - as and when they go wrong. Of course, if you are cutting saplings all day long then look to one of the names. A couple of things to consider: Go for the higher voltage batteries - a rule of thumb higher voltage machines tend to be more powerful and should get a bit more life out the battery for the same AH capacity of a lower voltage battery Don't expect to be cutting with the full bar length - that will eat battery power, so 4" saplings a saw that comes with a 12" or 14" bar should do that.... and consider putting on a shorter bar to stop you being tempted

Nice idea about the spreaders, presumably something along the lines of the Irwin Quick Clamp/Spreaders would do a similar job. Certainly make life easier for puncture repairs.

ha you definately own one! door panels fell off in about a month! ad blue regen is on more that it is off! sitting there for 15 minutes every time idling away, stinking out the neighbourhood. No way thats better for the environment! tow hook is low, use to lift the chipper off by hand, this one no way will hurt your back in no time if tried. gear selection, got to be the worse i think ive ever encountered, EVER! had better gear selection on my old car when the clutch had worn out and needed replacing. all for £50K new. but yes ad blue is the biggest load of crap ever invented. might have to look at the ad blue delete. I heard any of these trucks that go abroad to say the middle east, first thing they do is rip it off as its so problematic

HSBC. Can't help feeling that I should have a claim against them for mis-selling, but have never spoken to anyone who says it's their department. Funny that. 🤔

I have never seen one but because it is a boxer engine, each piston moves out at the same time, it should be very well balanced and low vibration. Because the crankcase is shared between each cylinder and the crankcase pressure (as each piston is on the power stroke) still acts as a scavenge pump the saw is not piston ported. So the air intake past the single carburetor is controlled by a reed valve on the crankcase.

Thanks @Mick Jones yes well it seems that it is not out of the realms of possibilities that the push rods can bend with out something being terminally wrong. Well it was my wife who was tractoring prior to it breaking god knows what she was about, well mucking out without the rear weigh on- makes it a hard job with out the weight as there is already too much weight on the front end.

I'm pretty sure this is a known problem. What I did with mine was to buy an extra fibre washer and fit two washers at a time for a snugger fit. Seems to work OK that way. -

The last batch of pheasant curry of the season. Thank christ. It’s still delicious but I nevertheless fantasise about the feel of my toe on the trigger as I fry the onions. A thought that occurred while composing this post. I’m literally complaining about eating delicious hot food and quaffing (non-origin-denominational) champagne in my comfortable house. Some poor bastards aren’t so lucky. Every time I feel like whingeing about something like this, I try to remember I wasn’t born with hereditary AIDS in a Congolese lithium mining camp. Gratitude isn’t gay.

The China will be the UK’s salvation trip Mark, don’t you buy into it. You wonder why I question the wisdom of your degree level education 🤷♂️ What was it in by the way??.

Comprehension 🤔Stick to the TDS thread if you want a Trump drip wee man, liars and anonymous blaggers tend to get away with a lot more in there. Alternative is you getting your arse handed to you big time again. I wasn’t aware you had imposed time limits on replies 🤣 I’ll say one thing SP/TA you are one thick skinned shameless bugger. Actually on second thoughts you did sulk for a couple of days after a dose of public humiliation but at the end of day it’s a free country for now so I guess you are entitled to your opinion albeit most of the time it’s based on nothing but google rather than life experiences.

Kram, it's obvious that you're fully comitted to your current level of understanding. Why let experience interfere with what you can learn on line Best of luck.
