Oil ratios are a contentious topic, very hard to test or prove one way or the other! Personally I use 40:1 across everything whether old or new machines, milling or crosscutting, using aspen or pump fuel. I tune the older saws for this. I also believe the USA environmental push for 50:1 and I am just a fan of oil. I have a friendly mechanic that has been repairing saws for years (he does bearings and rebuilds for me) who insists on 40:1, so that's what I do. The infrequently used machines run on aspen and I don't so anything special before putting away. The strimmers drink a tank of aspen before being run dry and stored. My goto Stihl 261 uses pump fuel and gets used daily.

Looks like £500- well spent, if you're a contract climber/teenage tree-monkey! For the 'older' climbers like myself, I think I'm happy sticking with knots, for that kind of money ?

Re the Derbyshire Dales, I took a walk down Lathkill Dale, from Monyash , last summer, a lot of Ash had been felled but the mortality was very high , totally changed the look of the dale as I knew it . Far worse than my part of North Yorkshire.

Would you? Hugely hypothetical situation, obviously, because I don’t think you are likely to move in the right kind of circles to bring you into the Trump White House... but if you were one of his sycophants, would you be the one to go up to him and say "Excuse me, sir [tears in your eyes], I'm sorry to tell you this, but today you look even more ridiculous than nearly every other day of your vainglorious existence..." You'd be buried under what used to be the rose garden before the day was done.

As will many, and thats the problem. Although the english have largely bought this on themselves for being lazy and entitled. Foreigners have a better attitude to working in general, at least first generation immigrants do for the first couple of years. They quickly find out they don't have to flog themselves to death to earn a weeks wage.

Strimming the same? £1/min? And are strips at the side of the road maybe 1-2 passes with the ride on wide, still at the same rate of sports fields 3-4p/m²

I was only pulling your pisser about the camera bud . Regards the bar getting pinched you need to look at the sticks and asses the tensions and compressions . If you can tell that its supported at either end and not under your proposed cutting area then you know that if you cut from the top its going to close on your bar .So , you make a small cut from the top and the main cut from the under side using the top of the bar .

Its pretty impressive for the money. But you do need to be handy with the spanners, and dont be suprised when it wont start. Im happy enough, but I will upgrade as soon as I can.

Heavy Duty Woodland flail mower?
GarethM replied to tektoms's topic in Forestry and Woodland management
What do you consider a medium sized tractor, as a flail of any size is around 15hp per foot preferably more if the ground isn't a bowling green. -
Unfortunately, at this time we are not stocking hedgetrimmers, or the G888. Our main products are guide bars and chains, the G372XP, G395XP, file set, stump vise and brushcutter.

Can I reduce the max gross weight of my trailer?
monkeybusiness replied to Conner's topic in Arb-Trucks
Yes - and that trailer can now no-longer legally carry the weight it was originally designed to.
