Ash tree with dieback - whose responsibility?
GarethM replied to Pidgeonpost's topic in Trees and the Law
These days it'll be on a computer screen, the charge is for hard copy. Granted, you try speaking in person to someone in the planning department without taking up whistling in the wind, they rarely answer the phone -

Price £6250.00 PLUS VAT @20% Optional PTO drive or 400V power supply. This is a 2018 machine that we have owned since new. It is in very good working order and has been well maintained. Transport can be arranged. Accepts 25cm max round diameter, 20cm x 20cm square, 5T splitting force, tight or loose bag, log edge width 1cm-18cm, log length 12-20cm. Each splitting cycle is approx. 3 seconds. The automatic AutoSplit 250 Kindling Firewood Log Machine processes round or squared timber (softwood) into fine kindling or firewood logs, requiring only one simple alteration to the throughput speed to the machine to alter the width of the finished product. The infeed speed can be adjusted to split logs between 1-18cm wide. The robust V-shaped splitting knife provides 5t of splitting power, and works automatically once on, to repeatedly split at regular intervals. The infeed timber supply chute ensures an optimum and continuous work flow, simply load rounds into this gravity feed chute which feed themselfs down and onto the powered infeed conveyor. This system allows one user to stock the infeed, then proceed over to begin bagging. The process of splitting can be stopped at any moment with one lever. This allows the infeed to be restocked when required. This Kindling Firewood Log Machine comes fitted with 2 outfeed options as standard, this allows the operator to choose between tight packing of net bags or loose packing.£6,250

@kram They basically stop you from plunge cutting, or they make it very slow and horrible, otherwise you can't tell much of a difference. It's just not that easy getting a chain that small with the safety bumpers. Chainsawbars.com have some, so they have become the best bet

Ah nuts, I found the source of the carb problem. Dust infiltration. The new air filter isn't seated tight enough.

Fire in garden, can trees be saved?
Codythedog replied to Codythedog's question in Homeowners Tree Advice Forum
The photo is from inside our garden. Any replacement fences can go to 6ft and then you can have a trellis but can only add another 18 inches on top of that roughly. The trees currently are about as tall as my house so give loads of privacy whereas a fence, even a massive fence that needed planning permission wouldn’t be ideal at all. -
Looking for milling help South Wales - Pontypool area
Old Lands replied to FlyingAlbatross's topic in Milling Forum
Hi FlyingAlbatross, have you got something sorted? I’m just up the road towards Abergavenny with a mill. -
Yeah. I take back what I said about the oil volume. Its not excessive. It’s right. Other things have too little. Things should work easily, not marginally. He says using everything he has at 150%, 95% of the time…

To attach myself to the tree when making cuts and organising the rope etc. But you’re right it was pointless.
