  1. Happened on mine a few years back. Some drainage pipe works surprisingly well.
  2. http://www.arbortrack.com/ Oh right. Thought it was something cool. Carry on.
  3. Saw it a few years ago, thought the guy did very well. Bit long of course.
  4. Ha ha, good point, probably like me he’ll take a 50 metre rope.
  5. I’ve no problem with it. Good for him I say.
  6. Spiking up a tree with a flip line and forgetting my climbing line.
  7. A lot of clients “tip” me a bottle of that stuff. Goes undrunk for the main part! Is your’s cloudy or clear?
  8. It’s not about per hour! It’s about the job, price the job.
  9. Yessireebob, it is! (And long may it last)
  10. Poor sod. Very sad. Tough for his coworker/rescuer/boss as well.
  11. Ok, thanks for the response, I’m guessing you live in Scotland.
  12. I try not to get involved in these threads but this post caught my eye. You pay a mortgage and raise (at least) two kids on £8.50 an hour? How? Is that after tax? Sorry to be nosy, but I’m curious.
  13. So what’s the point in starting a tree biz? If you don’t expect to pocket more than an employee?
  14. No reason why a manager cannot do those tasks if there’s enough turnover. No reason to halve the dividend.
  15. Nice job. The next door did not want a single twig hanging over his garden, as is his right. Not his tree, not his problem. Cut it back to the boundary? No problem with that.
  16. Partnerships in the tree game often end badly from what I can see for two reasons (apart from the obvious ones of people not getting on or one not pulling their weight) 1. It’s not that complex so you’ve little need of two people to deal with everyday stuff compared to building/construction where the skill set need to be higher. 2. There’s not enough money in it for two people to get a big bite at the pie. Having a wife/girlfriend who can help with the phone, accounts etc and is really in your corner is a winning combination. There are always exceptions of course.
